Losing no CCCS dont ask to see your bank statements, at least not as far as I know. So your money should be safe. Well done on the ebay front, Ive got loads of stuff for sale all over, just with someone would be the darn stuffI really think you should stop thinking that you are someone doing something naughty. No one is gonna think you are trying to pull a fast one. Calm down everything will be ok. Hows your OH been this week? You had a chance to talk some more?
Phew thats good - I have always been so law abiding, I get nervous - Ive never even had a parking ticket or anything in my entire life so this all feels a little dishonest and immoral if I am being honest. I got my first default letter today - from Natwest Credit Card, as I went over my limit 3 weeks ago and they charged me a £12 fee, although as soon as I realised I was over limit I put money back onto it the same day 0 too late though! This is my first default, I guess the frst of many now.....I also got a letter today from Egg - quite a scary one (as I am not used to this type of correspondence) saying that they had noted I had cancelled my direct debit and so they have blocked my account and i MUST reinstate it IMMEDIATELY as there is an outstanding balance on the account - I am not even late with this one, I have always paid in full and on time up to now - do I need to be worried about this? I havent sent any token payment letters out yet, Im planning on doing this next week when I have finished swapping over all the direct debits to the new account - only 2 to go now - water and mobile phone (Virgin). I will ring Virgin tomoeeow but I cant find my water bill anywhere and I cant do anything without hte reference number on the website so Im gonna haveto call them up and see if I can do it over thephone with just my address.
Im finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel now bar feeling like I am comitting fraud or deception! Specially with using the natwest overdraft to pay the bills until the DMP and the salary in my new account kicks in.
As for the enay sales, well I have always been a major ebay seller for years, and the stuff I sell is my cast offs which are all mostly designer and expensive (how do u think I got in this situation in the first place! Living beyond my means and thinking I have to dress like a WAG lol). No more Gucci bags and Louboutin shoes for me, its Primark and fake Uggs all the way! lol
Sold a load of stuff this week on eBay and made £428 so thats going in my new bank account! Now I have nothing left so its time to start living life according to what I can afford and need not what I want and cant afford.
Anyway, this is what I meant about disclosing bank statements at a later date, as if the odd time you may have large sums going in and htey see this, they may try to prosecute for pretending to have no money or some such!
OH has been OK but he is making sure I am not spending and we are gonna have a ceremonial cutting up of credit cards party over the weekend haha.
Have a lovely weekend people .x0 -
:AThank you a million times –( ahh over estimating again….wonder if that’s part of the cause of the money trouble!) for all kind words, virtual hugs and support today, really really helped, more thanks to Nat for starting this thread!:j
Well shortly after weeping over the crap money DS2 started a physical demonstration of how rubbish it is, and I’ve spent the day with my hands full of carp!? Poorly tum little man, but he’s used about a weeks worth of nappies, doesn’t he realise he’s on a budget!
Vic have a great time! Lucky you!
Maz 1964 will look into the true call thingy, peace and sanity sounds like a good place to be. Will also go onto national debt line
Tedsd, thanks re OFT, will follow this up, (cos they are just not nice people and they should be because we are!)
Gibbs a lovely blue card is it? When we got ours DH said ooh there are a few people at work with those ( not sure how he knows ) but makes you wonder if they are dealing with debt friends!
Fab pears in Aldi today, 6 for 49p, I played how much can each child carry, too frightened of the trolley now! Yummy popcorn too, got it to take to the cinema tomorrow with dd, vue, both of us for £2, but if I booked online they’d have charged £6.20
:TThanks for getting me through today x:T

losing dont worry about egg they're a total pain in the bum. Because they operate their credit cards with direct debit payments only they throw a hissy fit when anyone cancels. We have all got that letter. Just ignore it, send your token payment when you're ready but expect them to keep adding interest and charges. Seems like they dont give in on that one Im afraid. Oh and just a word of warning, they will ring and write to you lots n lots n lots asking you to reinstate the direct debit, just tell them you setting up a DMP with CCCS. Dont worry about ref number just yet.
So jealous, dont think my whole families wardrobe would amount to that much... longing to step outside of primark
What ref number is on your direct debit for the water? Natwest must have a ref number for it, probably be the one you need. But Im sure you'll be ok without it.
Glad your OH is being better about it, make sure you watch his spending just as much. What we do is keep a spending diary spreadsheet, I male sure we both get receipts for everything, then at the end of the day I know whats been spent and how much money we've got left. I have to admit Im a bit of a spreadsheet nerdDebt at LBM - £11,505Debt 2011 = [STRIKE]8K[/STRIKE] £7760 - DF in July 2013DMP Paddle no. 1 Sealed Pot No. 1375Grocery Challenge Aug £418.31/£450 Sept £ /£4500 -

:)Morning people
Nothing to report after the skirmish with Egg. Losing, don't worry they just go on and on about their DDs, just ignore and carry on.
RBS have still not made contact maybey they recognise a fellow "carp with money" soulmate and are just going to lose our miniscule debt in among their enormous pile? No harm in hoping.
Sun is shining in sunny Scotland (I don't get to say that often!) and its really cold and fresh, doesn't feel like Spring yet.
I am really looking forward to the 25th when that payment goes to everyone, I will feel like we're really doing
Nat It is many eons ag since I had to deal with nappies, good luck, one of my kids was really smart on the PT the other was just too lazy and it took for ever.
Hope your wee one is better Mama

I think there might be. Have somehow come full circle though, because as a young child I remember going into our local Co-op shop, no Tesco then, and quoting our co--op number "065028". Kids today probably know their parents PIN numbers:) Amazing thing about the Co-op bank they have a branch number I can ring, not some call centre halfway round the world. Things you learn when starting on this roadtrip. BTW Is there a light bulb moment icon? I woke up this morning and didn't feel bad about the loan people getting these DMP letters, kind of feel that with all the charges we have paid (granted knowingly) them over the years it probably works out even.Paddle No 21 :wave:0 -
Well I spoke too soon.
Statements this morning from Hbos and RBS. asking us to phone them right away. RBS don't work on a Saturday (why ask us to phone then????) but had a long and fraught conversation with HBOS. The person I spoke to tells me that they can't (or won't) stop interest but can reduce it to 0.5 per month but because our payments were under the 1% we have to phone back and check in with them every 3 months!!!! I feel like I have one of those things on your ankle or I'm on probation for being in the naughty corner. If we don't check in they will increase the interest again and add on charges. They also wanted to know why we couldn't pay as we had managed to pay before on time!!! They also said that although they had received the stuff from CCCS they needed to speak to us or they wouldn't have done anything. WHAT IS THE POINT???? So people if you have debt with HBOS it looks like you have to bite the bullet and speak to them, don't be intimidated and stick with your numbers, don't be bullied and let them know you know your rights. If you're going to make these phone calls and you want to ask what they asked PM me for any help I can give. I will not be beaten and made feel to be an inadequate person by these blood sucking monsters.More than Two Years in

Exactly! What is the point???!!! Really cross on your behalf and don't envy the phone call you went through...I was thinking the same it's like being on probation... can you speak to CCCS about it, bet they wouldn't tell them they had to check in..
Just wait til the Labour party knock on my door re votes, I will have a rant about bailing banks out and them taking the P**s when members of the public try to pay back... my last rant to canvassers was about pre pay meters so maybe they won't knock this year.:D
All that aside, it's sunny here now too.... hope you can put this to one side til Monday PDD sending positive vibes your way as I think you are SO brave tackling them head on....:TMore than Two Years in
