Thats sites great, I use it lots. Shame BT dont do call barring as well. I think that my creditors musn't have my number as I've had hardly any calls. Or maybe they are just waiting to gang up on me all at once!!
On the shopping front, with one week left of Jan I've still got £111 quid left for food/grocery shopping. Cant believe it, normally by this time we'd be onto the plastic. Aldi is defo the way to go (or other cheap shops as well)

Just come in too find letters from Virgin and MBNA accepting our DMP !!! However along with a letter saying you've cancelled your DD from M&S, another one giving me a new CC with some money off vouchers!!! Cut it up right away. Obviously left hand/right hand stuff going on there. No more phone calls and still no pack from CCCS. Feeling much better because the MBNA?egg stuff were all big numbers and they've acceptedMore than Two Years in

Good afternoon peeps!
Well, I kinda did it! Couldn't quite cope with going up to the school doors (was having a proper wobbly when I drove into the car park) so after taking a very deep breath, I managed to get out of the car and then sort of hovered about 5 feet away from the car! That was nearly an hour ago and I've just about stopped shakingso I'm not sure I'm ready for those doors just yet, maybe try again next week. On a plus side though, I didn't cry or have a full on panic attack and I have noticed that my mindset is begining to change, instead of "I'll send OH to get that" its "I could get that" so I think that may be one step closer!
Good news for those getting acceptances !!Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840 -

Thanks guys!
Now I think of it, hovering in a car park, I probably looked like I'd just escaped from the loony bin down the road :rotfl:
OH has the day off on Friday so I'm thinking I might have another bash with him there - plus he can stick a clip of me on YouTube if I decide that hovering is as far as I go!!
How has everyone else's days been? Anyone done anything particularly DFW?Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840 -
Hi all. Am in the same boat as you all, massive debts, no idea how we got here but have finally had our lightbulb moment and contacted CCCS. Looks as though we may have a solution, the DMP! We haven't been spendthrifts, just had a run of bad luck; redundancy, car blowing up on the motorway, boiler problems etc, etc. My husband has been put on part-time hours and so we just reached breaking point about 2 months ago when I finally put all the figures on paper and realised that more was going out than coming in. Thankfully, I'm something of a tightwad anyway so I've been on here and looking at ways to cut our spending. Today, I finally sorted out our EDF account and went to their online saver 5 plan, and I'm now getting my head around cutting our phone/cable bill, what a nightmare that is going to be! I got in late from work tonight so will be clicking on the DMP button tomorrow and getting my statements, letters and creditor account numbers together and finally taking steps to sorting out the problem. I have been reading the posts on these boards for the last couple of weeks and the support on here is fantastic, it's so encouraging to know that we're not alone and that help is just a click away. Good luck to everyone starting out on their DMP "journey", I know that it's going to be a new way of life, but here's to new beginnings. (I'm raising a glass of leftover Christmas sparkly wine that I saved for just this occasion!)"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0

Hi, thanks for your replies, I think i will do as you said and change my direct debits as soon as they have gone out in feb, my new bank account HSBC said they were going to transfer them all for me - is this not a good idea?? Does anyone know if HSBC is linked to any other bank?
i have cut up all my credit cards today - Cant believe I wont have them anymore after 10 years! but i have to remember they are the reason im in this trouble - I have 9!!! Im glad MBNA and Virgin are being ok with some of you and agreeing to the DMP - I have 2 cards with them too!!!
Im actually quite excited about all this - I must be wierd - i think its because I feel i am back in control again :j - still VERY early days thou.0 -
Hi
I'd like to join too.
After years of making a mess of my finances, i've decided it's time to really get things sorted once and for all. I finally, got in touch with CCCS this month, completed the DMP and sent out the letters to my creditors. I'm now waiting for the welcome pack.
I can't believe i'm actually doing this, i've been struggling on my own trying to sort out my debt for many years. My first payment is due by the 10th Feb, so i'll be paying that by phone if i don't get the welcome pack in time. Then i'll set up a d/d and hopefully i'll be in control again of my finances.
The CCCS advisors have been so friendly and re-assuring, i only wish i knew of their services years ago. I could have made a huge dent in my debt by now. Never mind, i'm finally dealing with my debts.
Nice to know there are others out there doing the same. Best of luck to everyone .Sealed Pot Challenge member no:918
