Its got to be done, you'll be 130 by the time you pay it off unless you win the lottery. Try to snowball on your OH it sometimes helps to see it in black and whiteMore than Two Years in

Hi everyone
I've just joined CCCS, was with a fee paying company before but now I feel like I am really on my way to being DF-

I agree. I will try the snowball. I am off work as well at the minute and unlikely to return due to ill health so things are going to get worse. I think he sees it as a pride thing and is worried about our credit rating if we want a mortgage in the future but I feel sure this is the right thing to do, plus our credit rating will be shot anyway once we start missing payments:(Started Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Fell off the sofa in shock, hope there are all so reasonable, this lady actually apologised for bothering me!!!

Can I ask how did you start your DMP did you just cancel dd's and if so when in the month. I am not sure how to begin. Got paid today and some DD for unsecured debt have already come out. They all come out different times. Would you make all the DD in the new account for the same time each month and then set up SO's for the debts. How does it work? (sorry to sound thick) Also when you sent your soa did you identify who your other creditors were??
Hi Julie,
I cancelled my DD's as soon as I had confirmation from the CAB that they had written to everyone, and similar to Ted, moved all priority DD's to my new bank account. If I were you I would cancel the DD's that have already been paid so they don't come out again next month. If you're self administering I would recommend to set up the SO's whenever it suits you in the month - although don't activate them until you have received notification that the creditors will accept IYSWIM?
My OH sounds very similar to yours. He keeps telling me that he's definitely going to get that payrise/higher paid job etc. What scared him was me showing him our SOA and the proposed DMP (as it stands today, he still might get that job:D) which has us paying these debts off for 10 years. Then I asked him to cancel Sky and get rid of his iPhone. That scared him into action
:rotfl:!!

Hi all and welcome to the newbies
Two letters this morning from Natwest and MBNA saying they have received our letters and are suspending the accounts. So far it looks like everyone has accepted the token payments and no charges as of yet!
Bit annoyed tho as still no welcome pack from CCCS yet either. Was really hoping it would come today, maybe tomorrow?
Julie67 knock him on the head, that might inspire a lightbulb or more realisticly sit him down with all the sums and show him that it isnt going to go away. Im sure it would take some time to pay off even assuming his business picks up. Good luck and your welcome to vent your frustration here anytime.
Well done Pure dead dopey. So far Egg have been the only ones to call, cant believe they said they would freeze interest so easily, fingers crossed they are all like that.
One bit of good news, Ive managed to raise around £230 by selling unwanted baby stuff... now what to do with the money?!?!?!?!?Debt at LBM - £11,505Debt 2011 = [STRIKE]8K[/STRIKE] £7760 - DF in July 2013DMP Paddle no. 1 Sealed Pot No. 1375Grocery Challenge Aug £418.31/£450 Sept £ /£4500 -
Hi, Can you put me down on the list too ~ I've just started mine with PayPlan ~ had the initial forms & I've now sent them back. Had to change by bank account from Abbey & had all the paperwork come through from the Nationwide last Saturday ~ all seems to be going well so far.
I made a token payment to MBNA 2 weeks ago & then rec'd a phone call from them last week, when I told them I was just starting a DMP with PayPlan, she couldn't have been any more nice !!! ~ she ask me for my reference number & then she told me what will happen from their end regarding the 'standard' letters that will automatically be sent out ~ the best thing she said to me was: " The letters are automatic, please don't take offence to the wording - we have to send them out " ~ what a nice lady !
Well here's to a great 2010 to us all & let's hope it's better than 2009
Good luck all0 -
So great to hear all these acceptance stories!! Fingers crossed for many, many more!
nataz £230 thats brilliant! I'd treat you and Mr Nataz to something, a lush dinner or massages for two and then if there is anything left over stick it in the pot for a rainy day!Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840 -

HI! Can I join please?
Bit late - as usual but would be great to have some company along this 4 1/2 year journey.
A little background:
I am a stay at home mum of two girls, one 3 and one 11 month old.
We have 28K:eek::eek::eek: in DEBT and have been trying to dig ourselves out of a very large hole for too long! What a releif it is to be finally doing something positive about this, just hope that it all runs smoothly..........we shall see!
Weve got our pack from cccs and ive set up an account with Nationwide, just got the horrendous task of moving all the direct debits over!!!
Its great that the OP thought to set this thread running because we will all be reaching milestones at similar times and i'm sure it will be interesting reading each others accounts of creditor harrassment etc...
Anyway, about to go to bed now but I'll be back tomorrow to see how your all getting on xxxYou cant have everything; where would you put it?Reclaimed: marbles c/card-£131.00,MBNA c/card-£385.00,Capital One c/card-£230.00,Natwest c/card-£248.68,Nationwide PPI-£1590.88,Nationwide c/card-£56.21,Barclays PPI-£2805.280
