    Good morning all!!

Well, the phone is unplugged, the coffee is brewing and I'm about to turn my house upside down to look for stuff for OH and DB to take to a car boot on Sunday!

Ted, I was amazed by myself - having been stuck within these four walls for the best part of 10 months! Just hoping its the start of things to come :D my poor dog needs a good long, although she's got so lazy I'll probably have as much trouble getting her out the door as myself :rotfl:

Does anyone else do the "Payment a Day" thingy over on the diaries page? I started this week and have found myself searching under the sofa and raiding OH's wallet for pennies to put in my pot! Definitely worth a look!

Oh and YAY! Its FRIDAY :j :j :j

Could I join too please? I have just changed banks as i have a loan and credit card with my current bank, but am waiting to see if employers have moved my pay to my new bank before i cancel my loan direct debit. I cancelled the direct debits to my credit cards and store card and wrote to them explaining my position. Haven't heard anything yet but it's only been a week.
I am nervous about the budget, but also a bit excited about the challenge. I have never controlled what i've spent before. I am trying to eat more healthy foods, exercise more (more than not at all) and be less wasteful too.
I am sure i will need support from the thread as time goes on and will be glad to see how others are doing.
    Good luck to all.

Still haven't received the welcome pack from CCCS, looks like the PO has swallowed it, so phoned and set up a DD for our monthly payment. Still getting silent calls but CCCS thinks its a broken remote dialer from one of the creditors (long may it remain broken!!) Having a challenge to get through the weekend without spending to much money and a landmark day on Saturday because it will be a whole month since we last used our CCs. In my case its the first time I've done that since I got my first CC from the devil when I was 19 (and that wasn't just yesterday). Have a good cheap weekend all

    Hi True27,

it must have been so difficult being stuck indoors... am sure you don't want to to say on here but was it some event that triggered the not being able to get out? No pressure, you've enough going on already but you could set yourself some small challenges eg, walking just 5 feet further than the Post Office per week and post a Yippee! on here each time you did it,it would be good to see your progress and before you know it you'll be at the pub door!!!

    Hi Ted,

It's just the practicalities that are difficult, like picking DB up from school! I think what triggered it was the loss of my job last April which exacerbated (sp?) my existing depression and down into the spiral I went! I like the idea of challenges though (and I sure doggles will too :D) especially if the pub is at the other end :j!

Maybe I'll start from Monday, new week and all that...:o

Oh I get the 9 year old thing, mine can't get his head around why I can drive the car to school and back home again but I can't come to meet him at the school door! Maybe that should be challenge mark 1? Mmmm, you've set me off thinking now..... can you hear the ticking :rotfl:

  • First Blood, Egg just phoned to chase up the DD cancellation. When I told them that we were starting a DMP with CCCS, she looked it up and casually said OK, we've accepted your offer and we will stop all interest and charges!!! Fell off the sofa in shock, hope there are all so reasonable, this lady actually apologised for bothering me!!!

    Hi All,

Not actually started the DMP yet but have opened a basic account with the Co-op. I would like to cancel all the DD's to the unsecured creditors now and write to them (think we are going to self administer ours) but DH is reluctant and keeps saying lets hang on things (his business) may pick up and we won't need to go down this route, but with debts of over 50,000 its just not going to happen. I have had my light bulb moment! Just wish he would have his!!

Can I ask how did you start your DMP did you just cancel dd's and if so when in the month. I am not sure how to begin. Got paid today and some DD for unsecured debt have already come out. They all come out different times. Would you make all the DD in the new account for the same time each month and then set up SO's for the debts. How does it work? (sorry to sound thick) Also when you sent your soa did you identify who your other creditors were??
