Bit late - as usual but would be great to have some company along this 4 1/2 year journey.
A little background:
I am a stay at home mum of two girls, one 3 and one 11 month old.
We have 28K:eek::eek::eek: in DEBT and have been trying to dig ourselves out of a very large hole for too long! What a releif it is to be finally doing something positive about this, just hope that it all runs smoothly..........we shall see!
Weve got our pack from cccs and ive set up an account with Nationwide, just got the horrendous task of moving all the direct debits over!!!
Its great that the OP thought to set this thread running because we will all be reaching milestones at similar times and i'm sure it will be interesting reading each others accounts of creditor harrassment etc...
Anyway, about to go to bed now but I'll be back tomorrow to see how your all getting on xxx
Happymoneysaver79, I have just opened a nationwide account. You can actually ask them to set up/change all your exisiting dds, thats what I did and they have all come out smoothly so no problems. - anyway just a thought as otherwise I could imagine a nightmare task!
Off to work now - some overtime for me this weekend.... It was payday yesterday and I havent been to the shops or spent any money YET! xxDMP Mutual Support Thread No: 367

Hi All,
My DH has just been up to Mr M and picked up a job application form and handed it to me, without a word...me thinks he's trying to tell me something....
I'm building up to the challenge of the school gates for Monday, DB is going to be soooo surprised!! I've got my hairdresser coming round to tart me up a bit as an extra confidence boost so, if I may, can I ask for loads and loads of positive thoughts and vibes on Monday at around 3pm?Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840 -
Thanks Ted! Will be here to report back, well, hopefully :rotfl:
Feeling very positive about it to be honest...its been a really long time and "normal" has seemed a very long way away for far too long. My lovely sister has said she'll come with me to hold my hand, not sure whether to take her up on it or whether to try it on my own first??? Any opinions?
Ted, have you tried internet shopping? I know the buzz isn't the same but it reduces the impulse buys (and therefore money) by loads! Plus if you shop at Mr A, then I *think* you can get cashback from Quidco!Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840 -
Hi all and big welcome HMS :rotfl:
Sounds like we're in a similar boat, Im a stay at home mum too with two ickle ones, one 2 1/2 and the other 7mths. I did the dd's myself as I already had a current account with a seperate bank. It actually wasnt as bad as I thought to change everything. The only bad bit was the tax credit people. For some reason known only to them they decided to take the opportunity to reduce my payments by 30 quid for the remainder of the tax year! The kind lady did say I would get a chq at the end of the tax year for 106 quid, dont think she understood that I have a strict budget and 30 quid is a lot to loose. arghhhhhh
True27 sending you lots n lots of good vibes for monday.
Ooo quidco is great, if you havent already joined do it now, easy way to make extra cash. I got 100 quid just for getting house insurance! Only downside to internet shopping is everything is at your fingertips and almost always in stock, and if you're like me its so hard to resist pressing the BUY button. Must stop that right now
Still nothing from CCCS, gonna have to ring them on monday if there isnt anything in the post. Only one week left till they are meant to get their first payment. Good news nothing today from creditors though.
How is everyone doing with their budget this month? So far we're on target and might even have money left over. Been doing some serious cut backs on food/general shopping. Downgrading and cheaper supermarkets seems to be making a real difference. Just a shame petrol is soooo expensive, might go over that budget.Debt at LBM - £11,505Debt 2011 = [STRIKE]8K[/STRIKE] £7760 - DF in July 2013DMP Paddle no. 1 Sealed Pot No. 1375Grocery Challenge Aug £418.31/£450 Sept £ /£4500 -
Yawn just back from work and looking forward to my curry. Gone are the days of proper take away ones though, ours tonight comes from a jar in tesco and boiled rice...... have to make do!
Anyway all you guys talking about shopping, Im starting to crave the buzz.... so instead of purchasing random things (thats why I owe so much) Ive decided to cancel all my email newsletter subscriptions for all my nice trendy clothes shops. The thought behind it is that ifI dont see something "that I have to have like shoes and handbags" then I wont want it....!
Anyway Ive not had any nasty letters in the post today but still waiting on my cccs pack also. Oh well we shall see on monday insteadDMP Mutual Support Thread No: 367

Well today I received NO phone calls or letters from Egg. Perhaps they have finally discussed my DMP amongst themselves, or maybe the onslaught will begin again on Monday. MBNA tried to call a couple of times though (just in case I felt lonely) and sent me a letter as well.£365 in 365 days - £187/£365

Hi, Ive just got my letter from CCCs saying ive been accepted for a DMP, does that mean it starts in February? and do i Pay anymore off my credit cards etc even though the lenders wont have had the letter about the DMP yet?
Also i am about to send off all the info, statements, wage slips etc - do they just require photocopies? or do they have to be originals.
Thanks0 -
Hi
I got my dmp pack through today from CCCS; also a letter from John Lewis Partnership which just said "thank you for explaining your situation" and asking for details of my earnings outgoings etc.
In my letter to them i just said i was having difficulties, so can now send them the dmp letter.
Hopefully they will continue to be as understanding.

Morning All
Nataz I was awaiting my pack from CCCS as well and it didn't show, phoned them on Friday and they said I had missed the set up time for the DD for 1st Feb. I asked if I could set up a DD with them there an then and they said OK. Only down side is that I was too late for 1st Feb and the payment now comes out 10th Feb. I would give them a phone and get things moving if I were you, they are obviously under tons of pressure due to light bulbs going off in all directions!:eek:More than Two Years in
Doing it the Niddy way:j:j:j0
