Just got my Egg credit card statement for Jan, and surprise surprise they have actually cashed the token payment! Guess that makes it all real somehow. Crikee!!!!
And an even bigger surprise they didnt add any late or missed payment charge but I guess that is probably a one off.
Glad so many want to join, makes me feel a little more confident knowing there are others in the same boat.Debt at LBM - £11,505Debt 2011 = [STRIKE]8K[/STRIKE] £7760 - DF in July 2013DMP Paddle no. 1 Sealed Pot No. 1375Grocery Challenge Aug £418.31/£450 Sept £ /£4500 -

Caller display is great - I don't answer the phone unless I know the number and my friends and family all know not to withold their numbers so that I will answer the phone.
My answer phone got clogged up with automated messages which all promptly got deleted!
When I started my dmp, I actually rang all my creditors once to explain the situation and that they could see that they were getting as much as I could afford and there was no point in entering into any further conversations with them and that anyfurther calls from them would be noted and reported as harrassment if necessary. Of course, they totally ignored me but I stuck to my word and reported them. They soon got the message.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Hi everyone.
I started my DMP on the 1st January, and the phone calls started in earnest about 2 weeks ago. My DH bought a Tru-call box for our phone, It is pricey, but none of my creditors have managed to get past it yet, and any unknown phone numbers are searched for and, if necessary, added to my "zap" list. It's great as the phone doesn't even ring when they are trying to get through, so my stress levels have come way back down.
Egg are being a real pain in the @rse right now. They (try) to phone about 4 times a day, send me daily emails and letters, and are threatening to default me already (after one "missed" payment). I just keep reminding myself that I am not ignoring them, but am taking control, and that if they do default me and pass the debt to a DCA, then I have a better chance of interest being frozen. I have read somewhere that most of their CCA's aren't valid anyway, so maybe that is why they are chasing me so aggresively. Funny thing is, they sent me a new credit card the other day too (obviously the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing).
I also got a lovely letter from Cap 1 yesterday telling me they are putting the APR on my card up to 30%. This is the first month that my DMP will kick in with them, so we'll see what happens now...
Anyway, it's great to have others to chat to that are also at the start of their DMP journey. here's to our debt free future£365 in 365 days - £187/£365

Second that IWGOOD!!
Ok just thought I would check other banks etc to see if they had accepted payments. So far looks like everyone took the money. Bit funny though, Natwest have removed my credit card from online account so I can't access it online anymore and Virgin have added it to their suspended accounts.
Might have to look into one of those tru-call boxes. I have caller display but sometimes a withheld caller is actually someone I want to speak to. Like the idea that it doesn't ring... useful with a sleeping baby!Debt at LBM - £11,505Debt 2011 = [STRIKE]8K[/STRIKE] £7760 - DF in July 2013DMP Paddle no. 1 Sealed Pot No. 1375Grocery Challenge Aug £418.31/£450 Sept £ /£4500 -
How old is your baby Nataz? I have a 13 month old (can't believe he is that age already) and, even more scary, a 6 year old. We found Amazon cheapest for the tru-call box - still cost £70 though  (luckily DH paid as he hasn't got a debt problem, it's only me that's useless with money

I know, I know but its so much quieter in my house for it!! Anyone who I want to speak to knows to call my mobile therefore I avoid explaining anything to anyone I don't want to!
Believe it or not, that one small step has made my confidence soar, so much so I was able to go to the post office the other day! (Doesn't sound much, but with agrophobia its an enormous step!) Looking forward to being able to walk in the other direction - to the pub !!!

Well done true, thats a big step indeed.
Does anyone know if tru-call is ok with Sky TV? Gonna tell DH about it when he gets in, assuming I can sell something to get the pennies lol!Debt at LBM - £11,505Debt 2011 = [STRIKE]8K[/STRIKE] £7760 - DF in July 2013DMP Paddle no. 1 Sealed Pot No. 1375Grocery Challenge Aug £418.31/£450 Sept £ /£4500 -
Hey glad there are so many of us in the same boat. I too start my DMP on 1st Feb, have to make my first payment before 10th Feb. This sounds really really odd but Im actually quite excited to be sorting myself out (eventually!). Our family is going to have to learn to live on £421 a month should be easy but with no credit cards to help back me up I think I might need this website (a lot)... Good luck all you other new DMP starters xxDMP Mutual Support Thread No: 367

Does anyone know what happens to buy now pay later deals you have that are due in sept if i start my DMP in feb. Can they go in the plan even tho they are not debt as yet. I didnt think you were allowed credit whilst in a DMP and if i left them technically i would still have credit.
Any help appreciated.
