Hey well done true, cant believe how short your DMP is gonna be now, Im sooooooooo jealous
Hiya losing nice to see you in a calmer moodhave you managed to do your SOA yet, might help focus your efforts esp if you can start getting those bills down.
One of the first things I did when I realised the level of debt was go through every page on MSE and see what bills I could lower. Did pretty much everything and more besides. Dont know if anyone else uses 18185 for cutting down phone bills but its brill. What with all these 0845 etc numbers you have to ring these days Ive already saved so much already compared to what I used to spend through BT. And of course make sure you use Quidco or Topcashback for everything, best way to make lots of nice free money.Debt at LBM - £11,505Debt 2011 = [STRIKE]8K[/STRIKE] £7760 - DF in July 2013DMP Paddle no. 1 Sealed Pot No. 1375Grocery Challenge Aug £418.31/£450 Sept £ /£4500 -
Yes, they'll be fine with that. I had to change mine from Feb to March to allow for DDs to change over etc.
When I sent the notification letter to creditors I put March on there.
Hi, have only managed to change 2 direct debits today - EON for gas and electric which i was able to do online, and Abbey for the mortgage - but they say that it will take 3 weeks so looks like the overdraft is going to pay for the mortgage payment on 1st MArch and then 1st April payment will come out of new bank. So it looks as though I am gonna have to start the DMP on 1st May - I dont really want any correspondence going to Natwest until all the remaining direct debits have been taken - gosh this seems so naughty to do thisas no more money will now be going INTO the Natwest, only OUT!
SHould I send the notification of DMP letters right away or should i sort out all the changeover of the direct debits to new bank first and then do these?
I need to change DDs for: water, tv license, 2nd Mortgage (with First PLus), Buildings Insurance, Contents Insurance, Mortgage Protection / Life Imsurance, and Phone so its taking some time as I am at work so I did those 2 in my dinner hour.
I am gonna do an SOA over the weekend as well, just got so much to do at the moment.
I really dont know what I would have done without this forum.0 -
Losing I would send the notification letters to all except Natwest (keep them in the dark till your wages and DDs are all changed over) might as well get the ball rolling then you can just send small token payments till your DMP starts in either Apr or May.
I think you can now do TV licence online, as well as water (or at least you can with Northumbrian water). BT you cant do online, which saying you can do everything else online is very very annoying  (can you tell I hate BT). Cant help with the rest, but Im sure it wont take you long. Most have call centres that open early and close late, can you make calls outside of work?
Dont worry about Natwest, I did exactly the same with them as your doing and they havent played hard ball so I guess they dont really care.
I noticed you're with Eon, what tariff are you on. Im on one of their online savers and is so cheap - I'll try and find out what one if you like.
Cant believe how in control you're starting to sound, so different to just a week ago. Keep going, we're all with youDebt at LBM - £11,505Debt 2011 = [STRIKE]8K[/STRIKE] £7760 - DF in July 2013DMP Paddle no. 1 Sealed Pot No. 1375Grocery Challenge Aug £418.31/£450 Sept £ /£4500 -

thank you, I think we've won a battle there, unfortunately its going to be a long war. We did phone and write to them a couple of times to try to get someone to talk sense to and it looks like it paid off. RBS are ignoring us at moment so I'm wondering if I should tackle them next, this debt fighting is a bit like a full time job, and I could do with a filing clerk for all this b'@@%& paperwork!!!More than Two Years in
