HSBC defo read from a script, last time I accidentally answered to them I tried to sell them some double glazing, was no point in actually trying to communicate with them!
It's just so PAINFUL talking to them. I can't bear it. If they carry on stalking I will take GREAT pleasure in writing them a letter quoting OFT!
And while I'm on HSBC, I bought something on eBay yesterday (I had to, wedding present for my best friend and MUCH cheaper on there) and paid through Paypal. Currently changing over bank details on Paypal (which btw, couldn't be more complicated if it tried!) and when I hit 'Pay' I realised it still had my old HSBC a/c!! I thought it'd bounce (as they're harassing me and there's about £2 in the a/c) but it didn't...?? I've transferred the money into HSBC so they don't charge me for being overdrawn but how utterly ridiculous to let the payment go through!!!
(I know I should have been more careful but it was one of those 'hit send, s**t wrong details' moments!)

Thanks True!
Just spoken lovely cccs, she was so happy that we'd had the letter from mbna, even thought their letter to us was the same day as they'd refused cccs, she said that as we'd had the letter from mbna that they had accepted!:jDoes that make any sense?
Phew...if I dare feel any relief, they are our biggest two cc £18k in total and getting nearly half our total debt.
Fingers crossed for everyone for positive post and friendly phone calls only xDMP mutual support thread member 371LBM Jan 2010DMP Paddle No 20 -
The capital one situation is a bit long winded so bear with me....
Me and the other half are doing a joint DMP. My names first on all the CCCS paperwork but the Capital One account is in his name.
I sent token payments the month before we started the DMP, which they received and cashed just fine. They sent all the standard late payment letters, then we started getting the letters from Debtitas which I believe is their own In house collections (feel free to correct me), Then we got the from letter from CCCS saying Capone haven't got any record of our account, I rang CCCS and they said it's most likely because my names on the agreement with them but not with capital one IYSWIM. Anyway they said they'd update it from their end and to just ignore the letter.
Then we got a letter from Power2Contact acting on behalf of Capone (again I think from what I've read on here they're the same company) saying something along the lines of 'pay up or we might send an agent round' I just thought 'Yeah whatever' and added it to the pile.
Then middle of last week a guy knocked on the door. He couldn't really talk to me as it's not my name on the account, but I told him what we where doing anyway, he was really nice actually, think he must be in the wrong job. He asked for mobile number for OH I said 'NO' and he said 'They'l just keep sending me until they're happy'0 -
Did he leave any paperwork with you? And did you report it to the CCCS?
I had a guy come around from Moorcroft just after Christmas and he went away when I told him I was seeing the CAB for help and I haven't seen or heard anything since! I think you can report them for trespassing if he keeps coming back.Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840 -
Barclaycard - Between us we have 3 cards
Two in my name one in OH's name. Although they haven't sent anything to officially accept I've had my 2 statements through and on both of them they've lowered the monthly payments to what CCCS are offering and the interest has been cut on both of them.
But it's the Barclaycard in OH name that they keep ringing and sending the letters about so I think it could just be because of the name thing again.
The annoying thing is they only want about £20 so I am soooo tempted to just pay them to shut them up. I know I cant though.0 -
Defo send Barclaycard the harrassment letter, that'll shut them up and won't cost you £20 lolPaddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840

No, he didn't leave anything, but I'm panicking that he's going to come back0
