Try not to panic mate, like you said he seemed like a decent bloke. Maybe get a copy of your notification of DMP letter and give it to him if he does turn up again? In the meantime, make sure you ring CCCS and get their advice.

  • Morning all,

Well, went to the TSB yesterday and the accoutn is ready to use, so arranged for my salary and child benefit to be paid into it, and have transferred £975 into it from the Natwest overdraft (that felt REALY naughty!!!!) and so thats all the money in" side of things done.

This afternoon on my lunch hour I am going to ring to rearrange all the dirext debits (mortgage, 2nd mortgage, insurance, tv license, water, gas elec all that) but some of them are due to come out in about a week or 10 days spo what if they cant transfer them in time?

Anyway, then at weekend, I am going to send the nOtification of DMP letter to the creditors along with the token payment for each one to cover the next payment which will no doubt be due before the DMP starts, so I was going to do this by postal order and sent recorded delivery so i have a record and they have no details of my new bank account.

I am just a bit worried if I send the notification of DMP letter to NAtwest the direct debits that may still be scheduled to come out of the natwest before it can be changed to TSB may not be taken if they freeze the account? For example, mymortgage and secured loan both come out on the 1st, I doubt the new direct debit will have neen set up with the TSB in time so this will still come out of natwest, but what if they freeze the account, then i will default on the mortgage AND the secured loan. Do you think I should send all the notification of DMP letters EXCEPT for NAtwest until the direct debits are all sorted?

    Help!!!!
  • I'd hang back on sending notification to Natwest until all your direct debits are sorted. It wo
  • I was going to say - It won't do any harm, but for some reason my computer got a bit ahead of itself!!

newbeginnings - Agree with True, maybe give him DMP paperwork if he does turn up again and I'd definitely speak to CCCS. Try not to panic love xx

Losing - DDs are a tricky one, some change over quicker than others. When I called O2 (just over a week before DD was due) they said I'd miss Feb payment so would need to pay online/phone, then it'd pick up DD again in March...although this didn't happen and they collected from new account!...so changed much quicker than they thought! My insurance company just said it may come out a few days later than normal, and then back to original date in March.

I'm sure when you call them they'll explain what the options are, people change DDs all the time and if you need to make you next payments online/over the phone until the DDs kick-in then at least you know they've been paid.

    Hope that helps xxx :)

cool. do u think I can ask CCCS to start my DMP on 1st May rather than 1st April just to give me more time to sort everything out, as thay havent specified the date on the agreement, the box marked "date DMP to start" is blank and I have to fill it in.

    ;)

Yes, they'll be fine with that. I had to change mine from Feb to March to allow for DDs to change over etc.

When I sent the notification letter to creditors I put March on there.

  • True - Thanks for the advice earlier, Have got the phone switched off for now.

And I don't think I mentioned earlier but well done on the job - I feel like a proud parent, I knew you could do it x
  • Sent token payment to MBNA, then rang them, very sympathetic, but said they couldn't do anything until they heard from Payplan. Have a strange hankering for a large portion of chips for some reason!!!! ;)
