Morning all, Im sneakilingly (ok prob not a real word) grabbing a cuppa while youngest is asleep. Ah blissful quiet.

Postie brought a lovely statement from M&S. It stated nice and cleary that I owe them money (um what I surprise) but in very small print I did notice they have reduced interest to 0% :jcool!!!

Oh and another BoS letter asking us to set up a direct debit. Well if they hadnt told CCCS that there was no record of our account they'd be getting their money soon :rotfl:how stupid are these people??

Its such a strange feeling to think that I dont have to start finding the money to pay the statements this month. What a relief!

Losing Im gonna repeat the advice to speak to CCCS, let us know how you get one. Hope you can manage to tell your OH soon. No-one should have to go through this alone, stay positive :)

True you're even worse than me at cleaning!!

  • Hi losing
If you have completed the debt remedy and it has given you options, the best thing to do is to phone CCCS and talk it through before you make any decisions. I know its hard but I think it would be better to try to tell your husband, I can't imagine the stress it is causing you to keep it a secret and you will probably be surprised at how much support he offers you. You know a proble shared is a problem halved and I know that is a bit twee but 99% of the time its true. You've managed to get this far on your own and that's great, you just have to keep going.
Hi, thankyou for your reply. I am really scared of phoning people up about this as I just turn to jelly and dont say everything I need to say. I cant sleep at the moment, all I feel is that my life is over and Im just waiting for my house to be taken from me. If I tell my husband (he has NO idea) he will leave me for sure and I will lose everything, including my son. The problem is ALL of the bills (mortgage, council tax, water, gas elec - EVERYTHING) comes out of my bank account, it always has, and he just gives me half of whatever it costs each week. If I ask him for more (which he cant afford) he is going to know. I have been using credit to pay off other credit and some of the credit has only recently been obtained, like in the last couple of months, but now I am being refused for every cc or loan I apply for. urely I cant start writing to them asking them to accept token payments when I have only just started the loan or creit card, can I? I really need to start a DMP, so do you suggest I ring CCCS? Thankyou so much

I totally agree about the brainiacs, this made me laugh- Can i make the tea too please? I too only have GCSE's. Where do I post my CV?

We'll have to have a "tea-off" - who makes the best :rotfl: either that or biscuit duty can be allocated :D

(BTW I'm only pretending to be a brainiac, I've only got GCSE's too :rotfl:)

Hi again Loosing, great to see you back, I've been wondering about you. I do the jelly thing on the phone so I used the CCCS Debt Remedy online because they have a webchat thingy so you don't have to pick up the phone - perhaps try that?

Hi, well I went onto that yesterday after I completed the debt remedy form but all it did was direct me to download the advice brochure and then the chat operator ended the session. I am so bad on the phone. And its trying to find a time because I am either at work (as I am now) or at home and hubby is there and he would wonder who I was talking to. I really dont know what to do. I guess I need to get all my figures together in front of me then I can tell them exactly what position I am in. A quick recalc of my debts and it stands at more like £46,000 (this is my debt and mine alone, not hubbys) and I only earn £995 a month. This is not including the mortgage and second mortgage that we hold jointly :-( Thanks for your reply :o
  • Losing- Please call the CCCS if you can. I was in exactly the same position. Everything comes out of my account too, mortage, council tax, gas, electric and then my creditors £828 on top. And I did the same used CC to pay CC and buy the weekly shop on CC. I could not sleep and was waking up in a hot sweat. The people at the CCCS are just so understanding and helpful as is the support from everyone here. I would turn to jelly on the phone too. I got all my credit card statements and outgoings in front of me and listed them all. The CCCS will go through them with you. They really are very helpful. If you can, make the call today and believe me you will be able to have a good sleep tonight, knowing you have made the first step to clearing your debt.
Sound as though I am promoting them? I just know how you feel. I was not enjoying my life or our daughter and my whole life was being consumed by my debt problem. I know I did the right thing. Good Luck

My wages are less than yours and they helped me.Call them during your lunch hour maybe? You must get organised and get the paperwork together. You will then be in control. CCCS are aware my husband does not know anything about my situation. They dont want my home number because of this. You can do it!!:money:

Will your DH really not understand? I really think you need his support. I completely understand your worries but the problem with tackling debts is that it has to be a whole family concern - believe me, I've tried to do it on my own and ended up having a nervous breakdown. Perhaps take a day off work when hubby isn't there, take a deep breath and make the call - or get an appointment with the CAB then you actually get to see a "real" person. The guys there are great, and they always have tissues just in case of meltdown :). Perhaps having it all in black and white will make it easier for him to understand? I've got to be honest Loosing, but I think wherever you go, you are going to be advised to tell your hubby. Wish I could give you some concrete advice, but I just want to give you a hug and emergency hobnobs :)
