The difference between a DD and a SO is that the beneficiary of the DD has control over the payment (like your mortgage would automatically change if rates changed IYSWIM) and an SO is set and controlled by the sender (ie you). Can you amend the details of the SO to change the payment amount to 0 or something?
Oh balls! Thanks for the help True x
May fiddle around online and if no luck might just wait for it to bounce....:(
Another abbreviation I don't get (god, I'm thick sometimes) what is IYSWIM??Paddle No 16

Hi all
Have had quite a productive day with all my debt stuff - managed to cancel my d/debits, open my new account with NatWest (who tried to tell me my credit rating was good!!!) and set up all my bill d/debits with my new account details. Now for the scary stuff - sending off all the letters to my creditors and cancelling all their d/debits.
SCARY STUFF....
Can I ask, I have a loan with lloyds and an overdraft - can they demand these amounts in full when I no longer pay my salary into my account even if these are now going to be managed by cccs? what if they do demand it and I ignore it? I just dont want to end up in a worse mess than I am in now! Think they will have a shock as to date I have maintained all my payments on everything loan wise and just been late with credit cards.
Thanks peeps

Did three loads of washing and got REALLY bored so watched repeats of JK instead :rotfl: must try harder, but I really hate cleaning its so boring!
Achelois I think they can demand it, but they can't have what you've not got! Just ignore it, if the OD is being included in your DMP anyway they can demand all they like, can't they?Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840 -
tedsd with you on the kids thing. My two are under 3 and the hols are a real pain. Everything stops! My eldests three playschool mornings are my only way to sanity
Luckily (or maybe not considering the task) my DH is off mon and tues, gonna potty train my DD. Wish me luck on that one!
Vic B and A what a pain. Think Ive been lucky, only had a credit card and large OD with my old bank and didnt pay by direct debit. Have you posted on the DMP group thread, they might have the answer, or is that smartiesDebt at LBM - £11,505Debt 2011 = [STRIKE]8K[/STRIKE] £7760 - DF in July 2013DMP Paddle no. 1 Sealed Pot No. 1375Grocery Challenge Aug £418.31/£450 Sept £ /£4500 -
Now peeps, i really don't think there has been much cleaning going on while I was out working my butt off to pay my debts!!!! We got another acceptance from Barclaycard today, lost count now how many have accepted but its looking better, I must remember to breath at some point cos I've been holding my breath! I know it can be exhausting but remember with the wee ones, you never get this time back so make the most of, its lovely. I think I must be the oldest debtor about this thread, does that make me really dopey?
Losing I am sure your OH will take it one the chin, like I've said before, he must have helped spend it. My OH was a bit surprised at our debt mountain but when he thought about it he could see where it had gone, so try to pluck up the courage to tell him. Meanwhile we're all sending good vibes through the ether.More than Two Years in

I have had a letter today from Halifax, they have accepted by DMP payment advised by CCCS for a 3 month basis, however it makes the first payment due on 28/02/10, my first payment to CCCS is 01/03/10, so Halifax will receive their payment by 25/03/10, which is when their second required installment is due.
Do i find the funds to pay them before 28/02/10, and meet their requirements or call them to discuss the DMP starting in March?
I spoke to them last week where they said they had accepted the DMP, however they didnt mention the dates required.
They also dont mention stopping charges and interest, but the car is on a promo 0% rate until April anyway, which coincidentally is the month their 3 month review will take place.
