I have had a letter today from Halifax, they have accepted by DMP payment advised by CCCS for a 3 month basis, however it makes the first payment due on 28/02/10, my first payment to CCCS is 01/03/10, so Halifax will receive their payment by 25/03/10, which is when their second required installment is due.

Do i find the funds to pay them before 28/02/10, and meet their requirements or call them to discuss the DMP starting in March?

I spoke to them last week where they said they had accepted the DMP, however they didnt mention the dates required.

They also dont mention stopping charges and interest, but the car is on a promo 0% rate until April anyway, which coincidentally is the month their 3 month review will take place.

    Dont know what to do?

If I was you Id send a token payment of whatever you can afford, but before you do ring CCCS and see what they suggest. Normally a small token is all thats needed till the DMP starts. Better than trying to find the pennies.

NaughtyMummy - we can take it in turns to do the tea-run. You start... i take mine milky with 2 sugars :D.

True, you're even worse than me at housecleaning :rotfl:. I did the whole house today *smug grin* (except the bathroom :o - will do that tomorrow). I'll have a look at the OU website and see what's what - thanks for the tip :).

Well done Nonnynonny and Nataz - good results with your creditors. I'm still waiting to hear from mine... i'm even getting annoyed with the postie now when he drops other letters... as if it's his fault! I've stopped making token payments now nonnynonny as the DMP is in place and the 1st payment is paid to creditors on the 25th.

Ted, i've gotta ask.... how are you getting cinema tickets for 89p???!!! I want in :D.

Have a jolly Friday peeps

I've got loads to do to-day so any volunteers to do a bit of loo cleaning? No? Hope you all have a great day with nice acceptances and no contact with any of the nasties. Personally I am thinking of writing to CEO of Lloyds as his staff seem to be incapable of coming to reasonable agreement. I just don't want their incompetance to stall OUR recovery, what do you think?

NonnyNonny - When you forwarded the letter from the CCCS, did you put a start date of your DMP? CCCS do advise you to make 'token payments' until the payment plan is set up, can you afford the payment agreed with the CCCS this month? if not just pay what you can, it may be worth speaking to the Halifax :o- they where really nice when I spoke to them. Just get in at the start that you have entered a DMP with the CCCS.....

The 0% Interest Promo will have been taken off you, but don't worry they may not charge interest or charges.

The Halifax did the same for me back in November last year. They stopped interest and charges on this account for 3 months provided the payments where made on time - CCCS made the payments as planned every month, however I started to get charged interest & charges again in December (keep an eye on your statements!!) I just buried my head in the sand again because i couldn't pluck up the courage to ring them and confront it. I then got what looked like a payslip through the door - It was from the Halifax telling me that an advisor would ring me on a set day at a set time, I plucked up the courage to ring them - I explained that I was on a DMP and that all my payments had been made on time - The girl I spoke to was really nice, she looked at my statements - REVERSED all the Charges and Interest that had been put on my account since November. :)

    Good Morning All,

Sorry for being off radar, went out last night (for free, so didn't spend a penny!) so feeling a little delicate today ;):p

Thanks for all the tips with HSBC, I had a feeling they'd be tricky! May try and pluck up the courage to call them tomorrow

Planned a day of letter writing and calls tomorrow, will start with Nationwide who have already put me on default (O/D) and Capital One & Next who have sent letters saying I'd missed a payments but neither have acknowledged my DMP...:eek: So I may need LOTS of encouragement tomorrow :(

Also going to write letters to all enclosing token payment (think I'll do £5 each) and explaining DMP AGAIN! Get paid on Monday so really feel like I can get the ball rolling...and can finally make my first payment to CCCS.

Hope everyone has a good day, you are all complete superstars! :A:A x

  • Hi all, thanks for all your replies and support. Soooo, I plucked up the courage to call CCCS yesterday and I went through some figures with them but they have said I am not eligible for DMP because basically I do not have enough income even WITHOUT the creditors debts to cover my essential expenses - this I already knew which is why I am in this situation in the 1st place. And they have told me to move banks, but how can I open a new account and move my direct debits to it when I have nothing to put in it? I really want to avoid doing this if I can. Anyway, the lady on the phone has told me to ring back today to go through my budget (even though I already did that with her ? ? ? ?).

I have prepared some token payment letters to the creditors but havent sent them yet. One of the loans with Tesco I only took out in November and the payment was deferred for 3 months, so the first payment only comes out next week 9 surely I cant send a token payment letter out when I havent even paid htem ANYTHING yet - can I?

This is all so confusing, I dont want to change banks, they said i cant do a DMP, I dont know what to say when I ring them back and I am not gonna be able to pay my mortgage or 2nd mortgage this month as I just got my wage slip and i have lost £920 this month as i have been in hospital foer three weeks (dont get sick pay, only SSP). I hace asked the mortgage company for a 3 month payment break but they said no. If the mortgage payment is taken this month, I will be OVER my overdraft, which is £4000. I am currently £3500 overdrawn, the mortgage is £900, and this is without all the other bills that are gonna come out.

I am wondering if I should go and see my own bank and try to see if they can help me? Or would they not be interested???????

If I cant have a DMP then what can I do, thanks guys x
  • HI Losing, I think you should take a deep breath and phone back CCCS to see what they suggest. I am sure there must be a answer to your problem. I do think it must involve your OH as I can't see how you are going to keep this a secret and is some of the debt not his anyway? I deal with all our finances (not very well obviously) but my OH appreciates that he ran up a pile of the debt too (he was a bit like Prince Philip just asked someone to get him things). Please phone CCCS and see what they suggest, they won't leave you with no remedy although the remedy might not be what you want to hear. Make sure you give details of OH's salary as well cos you have to take this into consideration in total. If you say he gives you half of the bills, what does he do with the rest of his money? Could this not help you both out? Keep posting
