A default drops of your credit record 6years after it was issued. So the sooner we get the defaults the better really.0

Urrrggh!
Got home to find 5 (!) letters on the doorstep, opened them in quick succession (like pulling off a plasters!)...
1. CCCS online password - hurrah! :j
2. New Natwest online banking details - hurrah! :j
3. Very RED Next bill with 'arrears' written all over it. Nothing about DMP. Grrr
4. Barclaycard informing me of overlimit charge (auto letter). Thanks.
5. Capital One, auto letter telling me I've failed to make full payments. Thanks
So mostly unhelpful computer auto generated letter. Boo Hiss. :mad:Paddle No 16

One more question - how long is the wait from you/CCCS sending DMP letter to creditor before they contact you? It's been nearly 2 weeks.
Hi Vic B. I started my DMP in January and started getting acceptance letters last week. I was told that it takes longer in January because a lot of people take charge of their debt then. Also the bad weather this year has also caused delays with post etc. HTH£365 in 365 days - £187/£365

Hi all, just managed to get five mins to myself to check in.
Ive been catching up on the posts today, and I feel a bit left out. Seems everything as gone quiet here on the DMP front. No more letters and no call from Egg demanding I reinstate the direct debit! I know I shouldnt grumble, but sometimes the quiet is more scary than the storm.
True seems psychology is very popular these days. I did my degree in psychology too, really fancied doing forensics/profiling but couldnt face the move to Manchester (only place to do it back then), just dont think my black n white stripes would have fitted in with all that red
Bit of a random question, but has anyone got any experience of putting in an appeal for disability living allowance? I've been trying to claim for DS but have been refused. Apparently he's not disabled enough... what kinda response is that  Why are things never easy ???Debt at LBM - £11,505Debt 2011 = [STRIKE]8K[/STRIKE] £7760 - DF in July 2013DMP Paddle no. 1 Sealed Pot No. 1375Grocery Challenge Aug £418.31/£450 Sept £ /£4500 -
Hi, I am not sure I am posting in the correct place here so please accept my apolgogies. How do I arrange a DMP? I completed the debt remedy thing on CCS and they sent me a download of a help / advice brochure tailored to my specifics, but now what do I do? I need to sort this out asap before I lose my home, and consequently my family if my husband finds out I am in £40,000 of debt.
I am desperate, any help would be most appreciated, thankyou

Hi losing
If you have completed the debt remedy and it has given you options, the best thing to do is to phone CCCS and talk it through before you make any decisions. I know its hard but I think it would be better to try to tell your husband, I can't imagine the stress it is causing you to keep it a secret and you will probably be surprised at how much support he offers you. You know a proble shared is a problem halved and I know that is a bit twee but 99% of the time its true. You've managed to get this far on your own and that's great, you just have to keep going.More than Two Years in

Hi Loosing - completely agree with everything PDD says, I can't imagine not having my hubby's support. I had too build up the courage to tell him, it was hard, but he gave me the biggest ever cuddle and has encouraged me every step since. This site is also a fantastic resource of both information and support, so please keep postingPaddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840

Hiya Nataz busy day? DLA is a bl00dy nightmare, I've tried to apply for it for me but I got exactly the same response  to be honest that was enough to stop me so I never pushed it further. Perhaps give the CAB a call, they have specialist benefits dudes there who might be able to help.

Good for your mum, True. Like they say it's never too late . I'm too broke now to try for an OU course, maybe in 6 years time when the defaults drop-off i'll consider it then . We've got some proper brainiacs on here
. You and Nataz can start some sort of DMP CSI unit :rotfl:. I only have GCSE's so i'll make the tea
.
I'm in Greater London VicB and work in North London doing admin work part-time, but would rather be in Cornwall. Have Oyster card, will travel :rotfl:. Used to work in central London, but traveling into Zone 1 was eating into my wages
, so gave that up. Cool, you got your CCCS password :T. Feels very official seeing everything online
.
Hi Losing, i agree your next step would be to call CCCS. They really are friendly and very professional. They'll give you the time you need to discuss your options with them.
I'm knackered... off to bed-ski.

Morning All!
Coffee if you fancy an OU course pop on their website and read the bits on funding - I think you can earn up to about £19k and still be eligible for full funding. I got a full grant based on OH's salary so might be worth a try?
Am trying to get motivated and polish my house up a bit, got the family over on Saturday night for a !!!!!! (courtesy of my lovely Dad) so really shouldn't be here.....:rotfl:
Happy Thursday everyonePaddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840
