Ok, so before I set up everything with CCCS, mum and dad (they are fab) have given me 3,600 to throw at some of my debt. I pro rata's this against three of my debts and came up with an offer one one (AMEX) of 36% of the total. Thought they'd tell me where to go. Waited three days and they have just accepted an offer of 1509!!!! UNBELIEVEABLE but great start towards becoming debt free!
Had to tell you all - so happy (except when I look at it in more detail and think its only knocked 4 months of my payments) but a start all the same!!! YAY!!!0 -
Thats fantastic news Achelois!!
Must admit I've been sitting here thinking whether its best to throw everything we have at the debts or to save some and build a pot with a view to offering F & F's at some point in the future. What are you guys all going to do?Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840 -
Blimey, you've all been busy!
Tedsd Like everyones said, Im sure it'll work out eventually, just keep doing what you can and try not to get too worried over their scare tactics. If you look at from there end, all they can do is send letter and ring, they cant exactly come to your door and take your telly or ask for your pin!
About F & F, Im kinda doing that, putting a bit in a tin to offer at some point. Seems easier than constantly changing the overall debt etc etc
A All I put was a reduction in income due to certain reasons. Not had anything back saying that wasnt good enough, so I wouldn't worry too much.
Vic Glad you're getting your back stuff and sympathise re chicken pox. One of my youngest friends has it so we've all been on spot watch :rotfl:
Spoke to CCCS this morning about the refusal by bank of scotland to accept, due to no record of account. And apparently this happens a lot. Nothing to worry about. I'm going to sound stupid here but what is F&F? And also, I've never quite understood what DH means either
:o
nataz - that BoS is a weird one, if they've no record of your account...then it doesn't exist and you've nothing to pay!:rotfl:
I've been to give blood for the first time today, so feel quite chuffed with myself...if a little bit faint!Paddle No 16

LOL don't worry VicB it takes a while hanging around the boards to pick up the lingo!! F & F means "full and final" as in a settlement figure to a creditor. DH is Darling Husband, OH is Other Half, DS is Darling Son etc!
Well done on giving blood too, cuppa tea and a biscuit and you'll soon be ok!
Hope everyone is having a good Monday - I'm just building up for a trip to the Post Office and to collect a probably rather muddy DB from footy training!!Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840 -
