Hi all
Dont know if you can help with this one but my DMP paperwork requestes " a reason" as to why my circumstances have changed. I have been paying my debt to date but really struggle. I have lost my part time business I used to do which gave me some extra cash and thats about it really but to me this reason sounds pathetic as to why I have to enter into a DMP. Can you give me any suggestions as to what to write here please?
Thanks

morning Achelois
Just say that, its the truth, you lost your business. and it doesn't sound pathetic, there is a huge downturn on, the banks would have gone down if you and I hadn't bailed them out, so nothing to be ashamed about. Goodness, I am having a bit of a ranting day!!!More than Two Years in

Hi Ted - it may be just as well for them to issue you a default, the sooner the better right? If they do try to take any court action the judge will see how hard you have tried to keep them in the loop, and that will only go in your favour. Big hugs mate, keep your chin upPaddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840

Thanks all - the thing is I gave up the part time business as keeping stock (it was a diet thing I did) and supplying customers always seemed to cost me more than I was making same old thing, buying stock, selling, spending income, trying to get more stock by borrowing, selling, paying it back to who I borrowed and back to square one. I just dont know if my creditors would "buy" this as an excuse but then again - who cares? I am doing it whether they like it or not. I just want my "Notification of DMP" to be as comprehensive as possible so that I reduce the coming truck load of stress I may encounter with them refusing it.
Thanks all

Hi A - a loss of earnings is a reason for circumstances changing, they'll be happy with that!Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840

Morning All
I've been hiding away all weekend - looking after my poorly niece who has chicken pox
Just caught up on all your posts, good and bad news, glad to see everyone is still fighting! :T
I don't have much news to report, loads of post re my new account with NatWest but not much else!
I did see on here someone had their DMP acknowledge by Barclaycard on their statement (apologies can't remember who)...my statement is online only (same with Virgin/MBNA) so I might login and see if it says anything...:eek:
Hope everyone has a good day xPaddle No 16

It will all work out Ted, I'm sure. I know you're waiting until your job situation is sorted out but maybe it would be worth doing an SOA to send to these people on your current circumstances but put in the letter that your circumstances will be changing in 2 months time and you will contact them again at that point? Just trying to think of something that you could do to get them off your back a bit.Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840

Received an arrears letter from Halifax on Friday, so called them on Saturday, said 'we have accepted the CCCS proposal' for 3 months, then to review.
I also had a letter from MBNA (Virgin) on Saturday saying you are now on 0% interest, charges stopped, payment accepted.
So all good so far.LBM - Jan'10

Hi Sam and thanks for posting...at least you are now facing up to your situation..:) I think? from reading on here that defaults only stay on your file for 6 years and you're young enough to still be able to get a mortgage later on...
Morning All!!!! well if you read my post on the main board I'm on a downer... had a letter from a creditor telling me this was my last chance to contact them (even though they had banked my postal order!) and that ignoring my problem won't make it go away... Then it threatens default, court, attachment of earnings etc... annoyed and panic stricken last night, couldn't sleep... have kept them informed, although don't speak on the phone as they told me on my 1st call that going to the CCCs meant nothing and they don't have to accept their DMP!!! That's before they even know what my offer would be! Feeling crap this morning and tearful.. this is going to go on at least 2 more months before I can even do an SOA...
One thing I have learned is to stick to my own rules and not open letters at weekend, and worse, at 7pm at night when I can't contact anyone for advice!!:(
Don't panic, Don't panic.. look at How have you been feeling thread on page 3 of dfw board at moment, might make u smile, tried to copy the optimistic hamster for you- failed though!DMP mutual support thread member 371LBM Jan 2010DMP Paddle No 20
