I struggled to pay all of our creditors the full mins the month before we went into the DMP. It made NOT A BIT OF A DIFFERENCE, in fact it actual delayed RBS stopping interest and the guy from Lloyds couldn't understand why if we'd paid the min the month before, why couldn't we pay it now. So my advice would be send them all £1 and put the rest under the bed for emergencies, you never know when you'll need some extra dosh.
Thanks for that. The extra would actually be really useful at the moment - we've been putting off so much in our struggles to make minimum payments. The car needs servicing/MOT, our son needs a new buggy and shoes, husband desperately needs new work trousers…
So will be sending them £1 each at the end of the week0 -

Go for it, you have to help yourself sometimes and I think this is one of those times, I was past that stage before I found the board so missed out on the advice:(More than Two Years in

Well done true at least you made it inside. Dont let the appearance put you off, just think of the pennies you'll save :j and of course the yummy biscuits. Has anyone else tried the Cafe biscuits from said shop.... yum yum yum yum yum yum
In a bit of bother with food/shopping budget this month, only got around £50 to last us to end of the month. This includes nappies and baby food as well. Did bad last month, went over by around £55, so really need to find a way to make the money stretch. Probably doesnt help that Im carp at cooking. Cant even blame it on splashing out on anything fancy.
Hey bit of good news, got my recent Egg statement and they've stopped charges :j:j:j Just wish Natwest and M&S would follow suit. And theres been no more word about the phantom BofS account. Am guessing its all ok.
tedsd I think we should crown you the offical CARP ONE gurushame they arent one of my creditors :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Definitely go for the £1 tokens, from past posts on here it seems to be actually a better option than making min. payments right up to the start of your DMP.
Hope you lovely ladies have had a nice weekend. I myself have been on the golf course today, my lovely better half took the three youngest to a car boot this morning!! PPLBM Jan 2010. DFD 2016.

Get you Prof out in the sunshine, did you have sunshine? Definitely agree about the £1s, wish we had done it that way then I would have more of a stash under the bed for emergencies.More than Two Years in

Do you keep doing the tokens until the DMP is actually agreed by everyone - so potentially several months? Or just for a month or so, then start on the DMP amounts?
How old's your baby Nataz? We have a 17 month old, bit of a handful but generally not too expensive now he's on normal food etc - though his buggy is about to fall apart and he's growing out of his shoes, so actually not too cheap either!0 -
Absolutely glorious here on the south coast today.
Yep, keep paying the tokens until DMP starts.LBM Jan 2010. DFD 2016.

Thanks for all advice. Forms are almost all filled in now, yay! Just have to wait till payday so can afford postage…
One more question sorry. We've done the form with all our creditors' details for National Debtline, and for this we need an 'address to send payment to' for each debt. We also obviously need this address to send the letters and token payments. For credit cards it's fairly easy to find the address, but what do you do for overdrafts?0 -
Can't stop, my youngest has announced she is going to throw up...nice!
I think we are the parents to the unhealthiest bunch of kids, my two are poorly too at the minute - 1 x tonsilitis and 1 x ear infection, so it's not going to be a quiet night for me, hope yours is better soon ted
Have just been through the call log on my phone and no-ones rang me today, glad but feeling a tad neglected now, sure they'll be back tomorrow!!0 -
