    Morning all!!

Sooo glad to see you back Nat, but I'm glad you're absence included and kid-free night out :j!!

That letter is awesome Teddy, Niddy (neverindoubt) has a fabulous way of wording things that sound so, well, grrrr!! Also, good that your friends won't be questioning things and will be supportive, even if they don't know the whole story!

Hi to Chocolates and Michaela! Welcome, ask any questions and join in with the trolley bashing, Shop A worshipping and CrapOne hating that happens on a daily basis over here!!

Mama, how did things go with the boiler???

PDD, congrats on your boys finally winning! England seem to have taken over the "we're going to play rubbish rugby" flag :rotfl:

I think most basic bank accounts are coming with Visa Debit cards these days, they seem to have been phasing out Solo cards. Also, you won't be credit checked for a basic account and they are dead easy to open - HTH for your sibling Michaela!

Well I braved ShopA yesterday (with a rather muddy and miserable DB) and my god its the most disorganised place I've ever been!! I asked the spotty oik trolley pusher where the face creams are and he literally grunted at me and pointed to the far side of the shop !! So, I trudge over, dragging said mudball with me only to find they had sold out of the eye cream  so I had a mini-meltdown, completely forgot about looking for Wackos and meatballs, and legged it! So I guess, half successful seeing as I got through the door without a great deal of Olympic Hovering, but a bit of a failure because I came out empty handed!

You have given me an absolute fit of:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:, mudballs:rotfl::rotfl:the meatballs would have tasted nicer. Never mind do you want one of us to go get the eyecream, it would be no bother. thank you I like to start Sunday with a good hoot, had a small hangover due to celebrations of rugby winning, even scored a try, I went to the loo and missed it of course, now may have to spend all internationals in the loo as it appears that is the only time they will score:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: so glad you came along and reminded me how funny that was :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

DH and I are still in bed! How sad are we, both sat next to each other, not speaking and plugging away on our respective forums :rotfl::rotfl: perfect match or what :D

I've got a question about token payments if anyone can help?

Do these have to be the same amount to each creditor? We were thinking of doing token payments for the first month of £10 to each creditor. However, our debts with different people are for very varying amounts, so our budgeted DMP payments for some creditors are actually less than this - just £4 something. Other bigger creditors will obviously get a lot more each month.

So should the token payments be the same amount to each creditor, even if for some people this is actually more than the DMP amount? Or should we do lesser tokens for these creditors?

Thanks for any advice. We're actually doing the official letters and forms today, it's scary but at the same time great to be taking control.

    Hi Rhian,

When I worked out tokens I had the same problem, so instead of sending them £10 each (which I had budgetted for) I sent them all £1 each and put the remainder of the budgetted amount into my emergency pot.

    HTH xx

I struggled to pay all of our creditors the full mins the month before we went into the DMP. It made NOT A BIT OF A DIFFERENCE, in fact it actual delayed RBS stopping interest and the guy from Lloyds couldn't understand why if we'd paid the min the month before, why couldn't we pay it now. So my advice would be send them all £1 and put the rest under the bed for emergencies, you never know when you'll need some extra dosh.

  • Hello to all

My first time of posting on here but feeling more positive reading other comments and people describing exactly how I feel. My DMP started on 1st February such a stress cancelling Direct Debits, opening new bank account etc but that bit done is this the calm before the storm? As yet none of my Creditors have contacted me by phone, I have 4 2 have accepted the reduced payments and frozen the interest, one has not yet replied and the other one is still accepting payment but interest is being added. I wonder now does this mean I will be getting a CCJ a need help on this one its the most worrying thing for me at the minute.

Hi and welcome E you've come to the right place :) Try not to worry, you are a long way off CCJs. Before it gets that far your details will likely be passed to a debt collection agency, that your creditor uses. They will get in touch asking if you can pay more, of course you probably cant and so it goes for a while. I think from what Ive read that if it does go as far as CCJs it can take anywhere from a year or more.
Im sure someone will be along with more advcie, but do ask on the general debt board, as Im sure there are people who've been through it who can put you at ease.
Not all my creditors have accepted, but Im trying not to let it bother me. In the end I can only afford what Ive offered, they aint getting any more!
