Agh nightmare. We had a debt with RBS a few years ago that they agreed to freeze interest on and take £10 a month for. When the credit crunch started they rang and wanted to up it to £25 a month, or they would accept half the amount owed as full and final.
Luckily we had the cash at the time and could get rid of it.0 -

Hi all just wanted to update you. After giving me the courage last weekend from your lovely replies me and the OH set about opening all our unopened post and made a start getting to grips with the situation. We filled in the debt remedy and PUSHED THE BUTTON. Needed a large drink after but felt great. Then our computer totally crashed was this a sign!!! So it has taken a week to get fixed and i have lost a lot of info but hey just another problem. What i do need is the template letter to send to our creditors offering token payment. Anyone help me please.
I have opened a new bank account with the co-op who were great new cards already arrived. Still waiting on the pack from CCCS. Clld all our DD now need to set up new ones. So this is the start and if it had not been for this site i know i would have kept burrying my head in the sand. So a big thank you. :j0 -
Hi Bailey
Well done on pushing the button, Teds letters great or if you wait CCCS send one which you just add your details and send to creditors informing them of the DMP.0 -
Just had a very nice letter from John Lewis (shame they are my smallest creditor, but they do look like they have an affiliation to HSBC, so fingers crossed with the other things I have with them) saying they will liaise directly with Pay Plan and assure me they will consider my individual circumstance and ability to pay. So not exactly accepted the PP price.
Barclaycard statement arrived for next month, token payment cashed but default charge added and a "please pay the outstanding money from last month immediately and the new amount by 19th". Have emailed PP but it is the weekend, so will wait until I hear from them before contacting BC.
Last Rugby wekend, 3 games to day, get  in and settle in front of new TV:j since it is raining. Aldi and sister for lunch tomorrow.
Thanks for the info on savings a few threads back. I wondered if it was OK to put the money for TV license and hair etc into a savings account until needed.Paddle No 21 :wave:0 -
:eek:Boiler packed up this am, no hot water or heat, we have british gas cover but terrified it won't cover the problem, we seem to have an appointment for today so just have to wait and see. No emergency fund....carp carp carp...not that we'd have been any better a few months ago as there was no space left on the cc....makes you realise you've got to build a stash of cash under the matress:eek:DMP mutual support thread member 371LBM Jan 2010DMP Paddle No 20

That does not sound good:eek: Fingers crossed the cover does cover it. Do charities have hardship funds for things like that happening? Feeling grateful I live in rented accomodation so landlord has to deal with such things.Paddle No 21 :wave:0 -

Yoo hoo, its me I'm back, just.
one of my small businessman had a big problem in Banff, which is very far away, around a 550 mile round trip, so i have been missing for 2 days. and haven't you lot been busy??? pages and pages, welcome newbies, well done somebody for phoning Barclaycard, True, I'm sure you don't need the pesky cream, you've got loads of time to work up to it. Was that the prof being charming with the twinkly eye;);)?
The barstewards at RBS sent me a default and a statement adding on double the amount of interest than the payment we made. had a conversation with some woman who tells me I'm still not delinquent enough by their procedures for them to stop interest:mad::mad::mad: give me strength.
Hello lovely, did wonder where you'd been!!
Do you do the same sort of thing as Business Link down this end of the country? Sounds like you're much better at it, down here we can't get them to go more than 5 miles unless they are getting a slap up dinner!
Maybe you should go in to branch and throw all the leaflets on the floor and throw a paddy? Sure you'd be delinquent then :rotfl:
Hope Nat comes back soon....Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840
