    Hi Rhian82,

It's 50p per postal order up to £4.99 then I think it's £1 up to £9.99 and so on... yes it's annoying when you are skint and having to pay out more but I find it good for peace of mind... These are for token payments not the DMP you will set up eventually...

Ah right. We're planning to do the token payments for the same amounts as we're offering in the DMP, so could be pricey but as you say, worth it. Not sure how it works for overdrafts though?!

You don't have to do that, you can offer the smaller amount for one month only like I did, if you are using cccs you will have to have the 450.00 available for the start of the month so it might be much too tight on your budget

Oh okay, might speak to Debtline about that then. It would certainly help next month - we've got so many things that need buying that we've been putting off for ages due to insane minimum payments - shoes for our son, new work trousers for my husband, actual fresh food in the fridge, things like that.

    Thank you!

It'll be expensive for that amount...I sent a token to the bank to go towards the overdraft...could you set up standing orders from your new bank account, that way they don't have a signature and can't help them selves via direct debit?

Good thinking. Standing orders all the way!

Hi, thinking of starting a DMP am very nervous and scared although relieved to be finally sorting my debts out.

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between payplan and cccs not sure which to go with are both services the same?

Also do the creditors agree to freeze the interest or what way does it work?

Just trying to build up the courage to go through with this!

    Hi Andy

Know exactly how you are feeling, The LBM fear has to be the worst, it gets so much better as you deal with your debt.
From what I gather there is little difference with the way pp and cccs manage your dmp, although I think there are differences in the monthly budget allowance thresholds. We are with cccs, so I am only saying what I've remembered from posts I've read! I think pp make money through offering products to their clients..insurances etc which you do not need to take. cccs don't do this as they are a charity, which is why we went with them and the fact that they got us through our lbm!. Doesn't seem like there is any difference between acceptances, which as True said seem quite different for different people.

Some creditors seem to freeze interest and charges automatically no matter what, others might take a while to do so, or not. It seems people get more acceptances than not. If they don't accept your dmp provider keeps sending the money from your monthly dmp amount. They can't have what you haven't got...is important to keep in mind:).

There are other dmp providers, and some brave people manage their own dmp.

Have you done the cccs debt remedy online, a good place to start if you haven't!

You've done the hardest bit facing up to the debt....it'll get easier and we're here to help in our own special way!?:D

Hi, I sent an email to CCCS about barclaycard and the excessive calls and they have confirmed when the paperwork was sent. They have also told me to write to them (by recorded delivery) telling them to remove my phone number from their records as they have no legal right to have it! As long as they have your postal address they cannot insist on a contact phone number at all!!! They also said it can take up to 28 days for the notification paperwork to be processed. Time to get typing.....

Hope that works for you! Are you going to ask them to confirm in writing that they have removed your phone number? It's so stupid the way the system is set up, I asked if they could stop calls after 7pm as they were preventing my youngest two going to sleep. Arhh well, at the mo I'm happy to take any call as long as they stop the interest and charges!

I will ask them to confirm in writing, although I keep doing 1471 today (for evidence gathering purposes only!!!) and I have had no calls today so maybe there was a delay in "no calls" going through to the call centre. We have truecall as we home educate and my husband does shifts so the phone ringing all day is unacceptable to us, and my kids are in bed early too. Even though they may have stopped calling (for now) I will still tell them to remove my number.
