Oh I'm daydreaming again - the most beautiful house is up for sale, loads of space, 5 bedrooms, bay windows everything I've ever wanted and its "only" £220k, oh one day....Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840

Hi Everyone and welcome newbies!
I spent the entire weekend with one of my best friends and didn’t spend a penny!! Hurrah! :j
2 letters on Saturday…
Cap1 – A letter including a default notice (these still scare the be’jesus out of me!)and also saying that my account has been set up for reduced payments but that a letter confirming amounts will be sent directly to the 3rd party (CCCS) and I should speak to them if I want details of what has been agreed.
….so nothing about interest and charges but at least they’ve accepted! :j
Nationwide – Now, a weird one from them. It says they’ve agreed the arrangement (£110 per month) until it reaches zero. First reduction will take place on April 1st (I’m going to have to get them to change as I pay CCCS on 1st, so they won’t get until 25th) and then….(this is the weird bit)…it says ‘You’ll also need to pay in enough money to cover any interest and charges that are due. These will be on your statement’…!!!!!!? So actually I have to pay more than £110? That doesn’t make sense or help very much.
Another thing on the letter, which did make me chuckle (and a completely OTT and scaremongering statement) ‘If you don’t keep to this arrangement the following may happen…ONE OF OUR REPRESENTATIVE MAY VISIT TO COLLECT YOUR CHEQUE BOOK OR CARD’….What!?...P!!!S Off! (excuse my French!)
I’m going to call CCCS at lunchtime and speak to them about this as it’s confused me quite a bit!
So, that’s 5 down, 2 (Barclaycard and Sainsburys Bank) to go….
Hope you all have a good Monday, enjoy the sunshine! :cool:Paddle No 16

This thread is an inspiration - one hopefully (or not!) we might follow. Just one question though - how does it work with taking holidays? We might be looking at a DMP later in the year but want to still go on holiday next year. We have enough Tesco Deals to pay for a siblu break but obviously need spending money to go with that, would that still be allowed?Thank you to everyone who posts comps! :A
I would like to be lucky,healthy & happy in 2020! :T0 -

Hiya!! Thankswe do try
!
You are allowed to put a certain amount of money to one side for holidays, I'm not sure how much but if you run through the Debt Remedy on CCCS's website and enter the amount you would like to save, then it will tell you if that is "allowed" or not!
HTH - let us know how you get on!!Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840 -
I also found that the amounts given for household expenditures were quite generous - due to struggling to make minimum payments we'd actually been living on a lot less. We'll obviously spend more now (we can buy fresh food, yay!), but I still think we'll end up saving some of what's allocated for household. We're planning on saving it for a bit then doing extra payments, but holidays would be nice too!
(And we were specifically told that if we put our current household expenditure down, the DMP would be likely to be rejected as the budget was unrealistic - ie, they didn't actually believe we could live on that!)
Son is currently having a nap, so I am spending the time cancelling all our direct debits, and setting up the utilities etc at the new account. I think I've done all I can until my husband gets home now, as the rest of the accounts are in his name. Time for knitting!0 -

Thats exactly why I'm self managing - because CCCS said I had to have a minimum of £240 a month for groceries, whereas I've got that down to £170 a month (possibly less now I've braved ShopA) thereby saving £70, which goes straight into my full and final pot!
I've used basically the CCCS figures for the SOA's the creditors have seen, just to ensure that the plan will be accepted (when I finally get off tokens anyway!)Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840 -
