Crap, it doesn't work like that, you need the number and they tell you it isPaddle no. 12
DMP start 1st April
Debt at LBM £23,0000 -
Wish that were true but we registered with telephone preference something or other last year so we don't ever get cold calls
Dont worry I have been registered with TPS for years and still get colds calls and those from withheld numbers I did pay £4 a month to bar any calls from withheld numbers but decided that was a bit of a luxury so I just ignore them.
Nothing else to report no mail today getting a bit worried though as havent had anything from Halifax and only the call from Barclaycard wanting money. Nevermind its my DS birthday today 8 today doesnt time fly. :j0 -
Aw thanks Teddy, I do try
helps keep a smile on my face too!! I absolutely love your siggy - how true!!! I didn't know that CCCS wouldn't let you put money aside for Xmas and hols - thats horrific!! Even happier to be self managing now! I mean I don't do holidays, but I make up for it at Xmas

True, if you are on a self managed DMP do you send your wage slips/tax credit proof etc to creditors  in the same way you send them to CCCS?
Nope, to be fair none have asked, but I'd refuse anyhow!
Also, is the being fair to all creditors a CCCS thing or a general rule...?
I've gone along with it as a general rule as it does seem to make sense to pro-rata what you've got.
How do you get round the f & Fs without other creditors bothering or again is that a CCCS rule?
Not sure what the CCCS rules are on F & F's to be honest, but I intend to save up enough to make offers to the creditors with the highest interest rates (eg CrapOne) and then increase payments to the others. If they don't like it, then they can lump it. I decided. So there.(and I will tell them that if they ask :rotfl:)
Asking as I may start off with CCCS then have a go on my own if the phone calls stop... I did one a long time ago and paid that off ok...they use to phone annually to see if i could pay more and were ok if I said no...
As long as you are (reasonably) honest with them, they'll be fine! If they keep phoning, pull the plug. I actually removed my phone at the weekend, was very liberating!!
There you go my lovely, hope that helps :APaddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840 -

Thanks re the siggy! I don't think it's a general CCCS thing because I've seen folks on here include them in their SOAs and it's down as an item in their expenditure sheet...don't know why ...perhaps as I owed so much...maybe because there was already £5 per week in the budget for dance lessons which I wanted them to keep as they'd been going since they were 2 years old, maybe because at that point I was struggling to get a decent DMP monthly payment...depending on the job front, I may ask again and try to get a tenner monthly in for Xmas..anything helps..
Have you *ahem* juggled any other figures to be able to put aside for these things? I mean, dance lessons are one thing, xmas a completely separate thing! I have to agree with PDD on this, but your kids have to come first, the creditors can go swing (as can CCCS if they are asking you to put your children second) IMHO....Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840 -

Well, I take back EVERYTHING I said about HSBC…bear with me while I rant...
I phoned up the CCCS to query Cap1 (they haven’t heard anything yet) and Nationwide (they said not to worry, NW know full well CCCS payments are 25th, so ignore the bit about 1st and also that they’d speak to them re interest and charges etc.)...so that's the good news.
I asked briefly if they could send info to HSBC as they claimed they hadn’t had anything from CCCS….lady I spoke to confirmed they have actually heard from them as they’re querying my outgoings (loan payments to friends) and said they wouldn’t accept the DMP if it wasn’t reduced!!:eek::mad:
...So the man I spoke to last week was clearly on another planet and talking out of his backside!
CCCS lady said not to worry too much, think about whether I can reduce payments (I can’t) and someone from CCCS will contact me in a few days. If HSBC do decline they’ll pass on to their DCA (can’t remember the name) who she said are quite amicable and understanding in the past…which half makes me hope it does move to them!!
Arrrrrggghhh!! This just proves how utterly incompetent HSBC staff are. NOT A CLUE what is going on.

Hi all, I've spent the weekend being in floods of tears thinking we were going to loose everything as OH not drawing a wage at the momment and then reading the entire thread almost from start to finish (I've only managed to get to page 71 so far tho!). It's a real inspiration to know that people can work a way out of this!
Sorry if this question has been answered already but I've just plucked up the courage to ring CCCS (got a bit of a phone phobia, can't talk to people I don't know on the phone) and they say they can't set up a DMP for us as we can't even meet day to day living expenses!! What do we do now?
Our income at the momment is £1256, this includes my wages, child benefit & tax credits. According to CCCS our outgoings are £1476m before any debt payments are met!
However, I only pay around £160 per month for food, and we don't buy any new clothes etc. The lady at CCCS insisted we had to put "realistic" figures in, and changed the food bill to £239 per month! She also upped other things on our budget, which then made it go over our income. I went through the figures again after our call finished and I can take £291 off of their budget!
So where does that leave me now? How do I even start trying to do a DMP on my own? I wanted CCCS to be a bit of a security blanket for me, I'm not sure I can do this alone. Has anyone else tried to go it alone? Thanks for reading a bit of a ramble but I'm starting to panic again now...0 -

Ugh that sounds awful, big hug.
I know what you mean about those 'realistic' budgets - they don't seem to realise that people who have been living with debt for a long time are used to making do on a lot less!
Can you get your budget more than £100 under your incomings? You need that much to qualify for a DMP.
Also, if your OH isn't working, can you get your tax credits up or any other benefits?
I don't know much about self-managing, but True27 should be able to offer some advice on that.0
