    There is no limit, technically, but it'll take you longer to do the same things....

    Most BB providers have somesort of FUP, off the top of my head o2/be dont and virgin XXL

    Wow, you really have an axe to grind and are hilariously clutching at straws now.

    The simple fact is it IS unlimited. Your definition of 'totally' is not relevant and nor are the ASA. It doesn't specify what speed the unlimited downloads will be. The vast majority of ISPs have a fair usage policy or a fixed cap. Virgin don't. End of.

    Have you actually spoke to Virgin to ask why you got 10mb straight away after switching from the 2mb service? What did they say? Or are you just speculating without knowing the facts? Do you know how cable broadband works? Do you know your power levels? Do you know that different speeds work differently with different power levels?

    All of that is pretty much irrelevant. £10 says you were speed restricted due to your usage.

    The speed you recieved backs this up. The 2mb service cap of 200mb between 9am and 9pm is tiny.

    Firstly I do NOT live in one of the quoted VIRGIN SPEED THROTTLING AREAS.....so that is £10 you owe me ROBT:D.....or are we going to find another excuse for VIRGIN to be throttling my speed.

    I am disappointed at the meekness of members on a Consumer board in accepting this kind of behaviour from a big retailer.

    Its bad enough that consumer have accepted this "UNLIMITED" wording fudge already.

    But now it seems Virgin have added the words "TOTALLY" and "NEVER" to this list of advertising fudge words.

    Virgin CANNOT claim with my 2mb service that.....

    "You'll never have to worry about going over the limit"......as quite plainly I do as a 2mb service throttled to 0.5 mb makes even a simple YouTUBE video unwatchable.

    As an Ex VM engineer who know's how it works,has explained how faults can cause slow speeds,although I'd forgotten about the cap,I'm thinking that the OP is really Fox Mulder...

    Yes,Because I've been out of work for a few months now since my last employer restructured & I have the wrong qualifications for 80% of the jobs going where I live,which is telesales.BT BBands callcenter turned me away as I was overqualified.
    VM are reintroducing In House Engineers across the country,not quite what I did but at least I have 9 years experience.I'd be stupid not to re-apply under the circumstances.
    Besides,I'm trying to set up my own firm doing TV stuff at the moment.

    Err... yes you do. There are no areas without it. Read the page about it again. There are trials in a few areas of different of different patterns thats all.

    The rest of your post just proves you have an axe to grind because once again you refused to comment on the facts or what actually happens. Without doing that, why should anyone want to help you or say who is in the right and who in the wrong?
