    ADVERTISING

This site is free from advertising. Posts on any board considered to be advertising goods, services and/or companies will be removed.

Examples of this can include anything from a specific sales post or a link to your own website in which you attempt to sell something to someone offering their holiday home to forum members. Unfortunately we cannot allow any advertising of any description no matter how honourable the intention.

This includes the Referrals Board (see below).

If you think you have a genuinely good deal please contact a Board Guide for the board you’d like to post it on. If they agree with you they’ll contact the MSE Team and it will be considered. Any final decision will be that of the MSE Team. Please do not question the response with the Board Guide.

Ermmm what exactly is he advertising?

Actually, RESEARCH & Moneysaving and tackling a MAJOR crime problem is hardly advertising...I take it you either have or have not had 1 stolen?

No there not, but I've visited your site and you're trying to make money out of this - which is advertising. And if you weren't going to advertise then what was this post about:

    "Don't forget Me!"

You asked if it was the right place to post - if you read the bottom of the section I posted you would find your answer:

    I didn't mean you personally.

If your intention was only to tell people not to leave their sat-navs in their car then fair enough I apologise. But the fact that your website charges membership for a service that, to me, looked like you were trying to promote indirectly is why I posted that reply.

So, if you weren't about to then apologies.

I can give you some research if you're interested. I don't think that putting a big sticker in your car telling thieves that your sat nav has been removed is really going to deter them. In fact I would think that they were actually more likely to break in. Take removable stereos as a case in point.

Its not just the sat nav you need to remove from your car when leaving it, holder and charger also need to be removed and put in the boot.

No yours is the original, non updated version.

Latest version is App Version 5.210 (5430) GPS driver v1.20.

    Jeff

I have tom tom 5.210 running fine on my loox, but I can't get it to pick up GPS data. I know the GPS woks because I've tried it through other apps. Can you tell me what settings you have in the tom tom software and in the main system device settings please? (baud rate, port numbers etc). It's a nice PDA, but comes with NO helpful instructions at all. JUst a huge book on "saftey" in a billion languages...
