I think it also fixes the battery issue as ive not charged mine for 2 weeks and its still on 31% battery when i just checked it now, before it only lasted about 3 days in standby.
It also updates windows as a battery icon is now on the windows screen before you had to go through aload of menus to see it.
If you look at the 2 firmwares yebaws has listed 1 if for Jan and 1 is for May i used the newest version

I started the upgrade but then it seemed to suggest that I would loose all my apps (not just data, which can be backed up). Is this the case? I have tom tom installed and spent ages upgrading / customising / tinkering with it so I really don't want to have to go through re-installing it. I actually installed TT on my memory card, but it still seems to place some files on the PDA HD so I'm worried that I'd still have to re-install. Any ideas?
Battery icon on the desktop would be a big improvement. I couldn't believe there wasn't one there originally. No way to get one without the upgrade I suppose?0 -

You may be able to get a third party one. I have a third party free app for my Qtek S110 but that runs Windows 2003SE. It would probably work fine on a WM5 device except it would look a bit odd as the WM5 look is different to 2003SE. There may be other free third party apps out there by now.
The one I have is called kbattery but, as I say, it may or may not work very well on WM5.0 -
When i installed TomTom again all my settings were there i guess it saved on the card.
The hassle of tinkering with TT agian will be outweighed by having a much more stable PDA with alot better battery life0 -

Thanks, I'll have a search for one. Do you know of any good sites with WM5 PDA freeware?0 -

If you do a google search with: freeware pocketpc in the search field that brings up the ones I usually use.
But, WM5 is quite recent and you will find that the vast majority of pocketPC apps have been written for 2003 and 2003SE.0 -
