    This is amazing news.
I just bought this pda and gor it today.
Expansys tried to sell me a new sdio wifi card for £60, but I remembered an old one that also had 256 mb memory built in (made by Sandisk). I just bought one second hand of ebay. I didn't even have to install any drivers. I just plugeed it in and I had instant WiFi access. For £30 off EBay instead of a new one that wouldn't have the 256MB card. And yes you can save to the card and use the card memory at the same time as surfing the web and chatting on msn.

This is truly amazing and nowhere else on the web is it mentioned that the Fujitsu Siemens N500 works with the SanDisk SDWSDB-256 256MB+Wi-Fi SD Card.

This is the only SDIO WiFI card with storage included, and let's face you will need extra storage available to you if u r gonna be surfing the web on this pda by WiFi.

I hope this saves alot of people alot of fuss trying to find a card that allows this excellent pda to become Wi-Fi enabled for only £30.

I have just installed the N520 version of Skype Pocket PC onto the N500 to send text messages via WiFi and it works, but the calls aren't impossible to hear, even when I installed it on the sd wifi card instead of internal memory. I am waiting for X-Ten to release their Voip version of X-lite that will allow voip calls. I got SJPhone to work, but I cannot hear the other peerson as the hardware locks the software when using the speakerphone.

The Navigon CD comes only with a license for the Map of the UK not Europe or North America.

i have one of those cards as well and with all the quotes of there being no compatible card available I never tried it but you were right it works straight up after putting it in the slot - cheers

deanos please change your first post. The link is not to the siemens site it is to CET and therefore is misleading.

    Thanks.

    Jeff

I tried to PM you but you have exceeded your stored private messages quota.

A mate of mine has a Siemens sat nav PDA and he's been saying that it can typically take anything up to an hour to lock on to the sats before he can get going.

I'd be interested to know if his is an iscolated case or others have the same problem?

Yeah, it doesn't sound like from his experience his unit could be working normally within specification.

It must surely be faulty...or cr4p.

When i first boot up the PDA from cold it can take up to 2 mins to find a satelite, this is sat indoors about 2 ft from the window this only locks on to about 4 satelites from the 12 available , from warm it can take about 20 seconds to find a signal in the same situation, using it in the car it more or less locks on to every satelite all the time.

I got back from a holiday in Hemsby yesterday and used the sat nav all weekend and it was faultless and too me to every destination without a hitch using tom tom software :) , it locked onto a signal when i was sat right in the middle of the chalet about 2 meters from any windows
