scottish power - lying and pushy salesman

my friend has a brilliant response to ALL salespeople who insist he is paying over the odds for services - he is a Scot and by his own admission has a dour face - his sense of humour is very dry
so the standard conversation goes like this

" excuse me sir, can I chat to you about your Gas/electric/phone tariff"

friend
" yes certainly"

salesperson
" well I note from our records that you are paying too much for your gas/eletric/phone would you like to swap providers and save some money?"

friend
" no hen/mate, I'm minted and I love paying over the odds for everything"

once what he has said sinks in, the look on their face is priceless and because he says it with such a straight face, everyone takes him seriously

try it - it's worth it for the laugh

We both just stood there in shock. I called SP and yes, they blathered on about re-training.

Shocking, not suprised though. We have had an awful time due to their salesman.:mad::mad::mad:

update - watchdog are coming round tomorrow morning to film me for an interview. should be aired thursday evening....

the only thing im worried about is how ill sound vocally as i sound awful on film/the phone/etc and i have a cold as well.

still its not an audition for xfactor.

This is excellent news. it will no doubt be next thursday tbh as SP were not mentioned on last weeks show as a preview for this week. but ill be looking out for that.

And don't hold back. Cold Calling should be banned

what a nerve wracking experience. stupidly i expected the director of the shoot and a cameraman with a little camcorder type thing and not full on massive camera and lighting rigs and all sorts of studio equipment, the rearrangement of my furniture and me fluffing everything i was saying through nerves. plus souding odd because im full of cold.

still its done but was so draining i had an afternoon nap after the school run.

still dont know if i will e on, should be tomorrows episode, what we recorded goes to edit this afternoon and tomorrow so i expect to be heavily edited. had a few moments which would be great on an out takes prog...like choking on fresh air and having tears as i coughed and gasped.

ive asked if they can enhance my voice to 'cute'. lol

the camera guy was a bit of eye candy. rob and boris went out after being religated to the kitchen, suited rob fine as he hates cameras. dog had to be shut in the kids room with some treats and i was even filmed walking through my lounge numerous times, opening my front door, turning my lights on and turning on our hob [which rob had frantically cleaned within an inch of its life when they said they wanted to film me doing that]

absolutely nerve wracking and certainly something i dont ever want to do again. i was so nervous, squeeky voiced, cacking it...

speaking to someone off camera is easy, speaking on camera isnt. especially when you arent meant to look at the camera, impossible task with it there in your face.

kind of hoping they wont use my bit now but if they do i hope harry hill dont choose to take the !!!! out on me on tv burp on saturday lol

how utterly embarrassing, esp as i was wearing my SLIPPERS!!!

2 hours of filming my interview for about 30 seconds of me looking petrified in me slippers with my washing up on display in the background ''dont worry it will be a close shot of you no one will see it''.

im considering ebaying my slippers 'as seen on tv'
