I think if it will save you £1000 in total, then it's worth waiting a year for. A year really isn't all that long (Natasha has been alive for a third of a year already :eek:), and you will be able to focus on it so much more once the debt is cleared. I think it sounds like a great idea, and I think the course will really suit you.

well after the carry on with the son at the weekend and his subsequent grounding son came in tonight and asked his dad and i to sit down he had something to say ...we thought maybe he was gonna be a mature adult and have a discussion about the situation but no he has just announced he is moving out on monday into his friends house...now his friend is a nice enough boy but they have no money (not that we have alot but bth hubby and i work and have an income son never has went without) my son has stayed there a few times and always has to come home to get fed as there is no food in the house we usually feed the friend most of the week as well....but hey my son has spoken so i wished him well in his decision ...hubby on the other hand is going off on one so i've had to calm him down ...oh the joys

He has to make his own mistakes. Sometimes people will run in the dark despite all warnings: They only believe the wall is there when their nose expands over it.

i can safely say i think that will happen to him he's only 16 has no job and wants to go to uni ...but hey what do i know i'm only his mother ...i think he will learn alot though like maybe dont try and call your mothers bluff cause she might just take you up on it ...(i think he was expecting me to say it's ok son we forgive that bad behaviourat the weekend and have decided to longer ground you)

for what it is worth I think you are right in what you have done. You know where he will be, so it is not like he is "running away" and we have to learn by our mistakes so "tough love" is sometimes the best option. (isn't that why we are all here on DFW!!!!!)

thanks hypno, he may change his mind before sunday but i'm quite resolute on it now if he wants to go let him ....hubby is gutted ..i tell you i think we have a role reversal in our relationship lol

Forgot to say, like the plan about doing the course next year. Just make sure that you do it, and don't just let it drift. Put the date for application in your diary right now!! also, you could see if you can get hold of the reading list for the course, and start borrowing those books from the library for a bit of advance insight?

good idea will phone the college up and get the list give me something to do on the night shift between cross stitching calligraphy i am finally gonna be busy lol

It'll give you the opportunity to redecorate his room while he's away. Just don't think you've got forever.
