I am going to eat healthily and exercise :eek:. Special K style cereal for brek, no more cheese sandwiches for lunch - they are swapped for soups. Then no snacking except the odd piece of fruit and just a normal dinner, but nothing heavy with loads of carbs, butter or cream (booo). Am also aiming to feel better, more energy and nice skin rather than just lighter.
Then on the weekends I am having either a dessert or bar of chocolate per day otherwise I will die of lack of treats
Also planning to come out of hibernation and start cycling to work and back again. I hate exercise but cycling is okay, it's 5 miles each way so hopefully over a few months that should start adding up! I was quite enjoying my lunch there of ryvitas with low fat cheese spread on, and a low fat cuppa soup, then I cought my colleague looking at me with a mix of pity and admiration on her face (she's dieting too) and she said "Is that you LUNCH?!" I know how you feel! OH will put on 1lb after a massive weekend food binge, he'll go to the gym for 20 minutes and lo and behold he's 2lbs lighter! I hate him! He can't understand why I struggle to keep my weight down, he keeps telling me to 'just lose weight' :rolleyes:
I've got a diet book but I've already forgotten the main rules! I think I'll have to read it again and do an appropriate food shop! I've got the book that goes with Anna Richardson's Big Fat Diet Show. What annoys me about that show is that by the time she'd done the show she'd already lost a load of weight so she's basically just acting about what she thinks she can and can't have because she's already done it all!:rolleyes: Stupid skinny cow!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. For interest how many calories are people aiming to stick to per day (net). I had a flick through some of mums diet books from the 1990s, but its just laughable, because yes you might loose loads of weight sticking to these wierd foods or restrictive plans on just tomato soup or grapefruit, but you pile it on again on the end because it doesnt teach portion control or what constitutes a balanced diet, and its the fact we dont stick to these that puts us on the damn diet in the first place!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I'm not sure calorie-wise either, but I'm on 17 points which seems VERY measly!
One of the good things about WW is that it encourages you to make wise food choices. So they show you that you can have a whole day's worth of snacks (eg raw veg, a handful of nuts, a rice cake, some houmous and some fruit) for 2 points OR you could have one chocolate hobnob. Obviously there are days when I go for the hobnob, but I definitely appreciate it more!
I think portion size is the key! One of my friends who is a nutritionist and dietician swears by the simple principle of sticking to the following food groups for each meal:
Protein - size of deck of cards
Carbs - size of your fist
and fill the rest of your plate up with veg (except potatoes and sweetcorn)
Snack on fruit, vegetables and nuts (in moderation)

I definitely can relate to the hobnob days:o
Portion sizes - I have stop using dinner plates and now use the side plates from our dinner service. The dinner plates are 11 inches :eek: and the side plates are 8.5 inches. I am sure I used to dish up meals to fill the plates without considering the amount that was going on them. I now fill the plates, but the plates being so much smaller take much less food. I haven't missed the extra food (yet;)).
Also the desert bowls for our dinner service are fairly large.
