to the many of you who need one at the moment,Bitsy,Halight,Penny,GemmaB,Sunnygirl,Purple Ivy,Nic1Lou2,and anyone else who could do with one.
I've been busy today tidying my kitchen cupboards and drawers, and getting rid of some baking trays etc that have seen better days.Seem to have lots more room now its straight
Tea is chilli, with baked spuds. We can have all the stuff we don't generally have unless I cook seperately as DS2 is now away for a week,so tomatoey, chickeny stuff galore :rotfl:
DH has just come home.He bought a new high vis jacket for work which is now absolutely covered in mud,so I've suggested he hoses it down outside before putting it in the washer. The joys of being a builder on a wet, cold Jan day
I have done quite a few crochet granny squares over the weekend, got the hang of it eventually.By the way Thriftlady your blanket is beautiful- saw it on the crochet thread. Our only wool shop doesn't have a lot of choice.May have to have a browse online
Right, better go and get tea ready.Have a good evening all, I shall prob watch Delia through the ages tonight.x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Ooh - new look to the site, I think! Have struggled today still trying to empty (& dust!!) the contents of the old bookshelves onto the new shelving. Up and down the step ladder! Now need to ring friend with woodburning stove to come and collect the ancient bookshelves. Room still in great muddle..we have friends to supper on Wednesday so more sorting tomorrow! Have also managed to get to the gym.Resolution:

Evening everyone.
Late one from me as had busy morning and afternoon. No better nights sleep last night  Up from 1am to 3am and then DS woke again at 5am. So I lost it a little bit. Cue words between me and H as he hates me moaning at the kids  So we've come to an agreement - he's going to deal with DS in the night as I am starting to resent the whole thing (how bad a mum am I). I am just narked that all we are doing is not having one iota of positive difference to DS, in fact it just feels like it's getting worse. Anyway I need to step back a bit as I just can't cope with it so we'll see how H gets on with it. Feel mightily embarrassed admitting this so forgive me looking like a right awful mum
Took kids to soft play this morning, they had a great time. Met my Friday mindee and her mum there too so DS and mindee had a great time playing together. Managed to have half an hour lie down this afternoon so that's something. No idea what to do for tea - must get stuck back into meal planning. Must make these blessed sausage rolls, perhaps have a crack at them tomorrow afternoon when DS is at nursery and DD is sleeping (best laid plans and all that )
Cleaned my kitchen tonight so need to clean the dining bit and put the vac round tomorrow and dust in lounge. Am feeling at the moment like I am keeping on top of it which is good
Diva - hope you managed to get some rest today xx
Halight - glad things went OK at Selly Oak - hope the new pain treatment brings some respite for you.
Lowesy - You made me laugh :rotfl: I ended up being like that in my last job (although I wasn't a team leader) - I just completely lost the will to live there!
Ladyshopper - sadly last time we sent DD to grannies to stay over she was a total nightmare as she missed me and H
Molly - Nope you weren't bossy in the slightest
Gemmabuckle - Hugs for you xx My house too resembles a laundrette as I don't have a TD. Since the heating isn't on as much as it used to be things take even longer to dry aswell
Zippy - you sound like you had a great time. Can we all come next time?!
Hester - how come you have to wait so long? Osteopaths - OUCH to the bill but despite the expense they are worth every penny when I have a crippling bad back.
Mummysaver - hugs to you xx
looby-lou - hmmm go on strike......might have to try that one out :rotfl:
Right had better get a move on and sort out something for our tea.
Have a good evening everyone.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Maybe that is what DS picks up on, that you are past the end of your tether? Hope that you can manage to step back & let H sort him out - from experience with my DS2 I can recommend Boots travel foam ear plugs if necessary! :grouphug:0 -

Maybe you need the string-round-finger reminder too?! Or is a more structured plan of "if it's Tuesday and week A/B then it must be Shepherd Spy" easier for you?
Structured plan wouldn't work for us, as I need to arrange the meal plan around Mr LW's work; on early shift he works from home, late shift he gets home when he gets here iyswim, and he's on call some weekends. There's no pattern, they get given a month's schedule at a time, and f'r instance, he's done ordinary days 5 days last week and will be doing 5 ordinary days this week, then next week he's got 2 ordinary days, then an early, a late, and another early.
Off to start on tonight's dins now, as he's just called to say he's on his way home.:TIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
How can potatoes be seconds?!
:rotfl:
I worked in a fruit packing factory when I was a student and we had to manually sort grapefruit - some are graded as seconds because they were dimpled, irregular or discoloured. Other bags of mixed fruit would be graded as seconds because they didn't match the variety label or they were mixed. Most will be fine. I kept getting told off for having too high standards when it came to grading.
Hugs for bitsy and halight and anyone else that would like a hug:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -

You're welcome Haribo glad it worked. I made it Saturday night, but doubled up the recipe and had to get OH to hide it so I couldn't eat it for brekkie!

Sadly in my new kitchen the microwave is now in a cupboard higher than the worktop and too high to keep checking to make microwave tablet but my little tip is instead of pouring into a baking try using individual paper cake cases which gives just the right amount and you can always eat two if its not0 -
Hi all,
Just popping in quickly! :j
zippychick: didn't know you lived near pink-winged! Glad you had fun
Bitsy Beans: I'm sure it'll get better eventually, I bet it doesn't feel like it at the moment though
RosyRed: I too have finally got the hang of this whole crochet thing (only the basic bits though), I could not for the life of me figure out double crochet but I could do trebles/triples, it took me so many times of unravelling it to realise that I was trying to go into the top 2 stitches instead of the side chain (if that makes sense?)! Now I just have to work on there being the same number of stitches in each row
Hugs to all if desired, and positive thoughts to all
Take care,
Caroline xx**Thanks to everyone on here for hints, tips and advice!**:D
