Morning All
Quick one from me as need to get DD up.
Had a really productive day yesterday and even made a head start on the paperwork. Also no ironing left :j
Need to s&s a couple of rooms to keep on top of the housework, will wash the kids bedding but first I am off to Netto as they have a few things on offer that we use all the time. Hoping not to have to do a Tesco online shop this week at all.
Pork kebab for tea (didnt have it last week in the end) if I remember to get the pork out of the freezer.
Have a good one.x
Hester:eek: should you be going to work? (((Hugs))) & hope it improves asap!0 -
Morning everyone.
Diva Hope you get some rest later on :T
Hester I'd also urge you to go back to the doctors and ask them to sort out your hearing it can't be right & must be very frustrating for you. ((hugs)).
Halight Hope that the hospital can sort out your pain meds. You are a star carrying on like you do :A Is Selly Oak where all the soldiers from Afghanistan go for rehab?
NicLou Good Luck! xx
Plans for today are to dust & vac through and Sister in Law is coming later this morning so that we can finalise the plans for tomorrows funeral. It's at 2.15pm so no mammoth rush in the morning.
The porridge for breakfast is made & cooling at the moment. We shall have it with a little sugar & chopped fruit. Lunch will be hm lentil pate & toast and dinner this evening is chilli & rice. I'll be using some of my batch cooked tomato sauce from the freezer for it and adding baked beans, peppers & chilli powder
Have a good day & ((hugs)) to anyone who needs one at the moment xx0 -
Morning everyone! Can't believe the weekend has gone already; they do say time flies when you're having fun.
Not got too much planned today, but did think it might be nice for me and DS to do some cooking together (cue carnage in the kitchen ). Our room for flying in is the kitchen, so think I'll do that after our cake making session :rotfl:
I did my shopping order online and, true to being a new OS recruit, have ordered some Stardrops and baking soda and looking forward to trying them out ..... oh dear, does that make me sound sad !
Must go but hugs to all who need them - have a good day.Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
Morning all,
Zippy, your meal with Pink sounds lovley, lucky you x
Nic, good luck to you today, I hope it actually goes ahead for you x
Very cold here today, think there is a frost on the cars, although we have a carport on the side of the house, so my car is under that :T, yesterday I cleared all the rubbish from the garden, there is at least a skip load , I wanted to phone the bloke and ask him to come and move it all, but OH said we shouldn't, so we will have to take it to the tip next weekend, there were at least 30 half used pots of paint, a huge car tyre, fence panels, rotary washing line  the list is endless.
OH also put up a curtain rod in dd's bedroom, and we put a new doorbell on.
I cooked a roast chicken dinner, and we will have the other half today in one form or another. I already have some spuds peeled as we did too many yesterday, so they are in water in the fridge.
Think I will do an online shop today, I can budget much easier that way, its costing me a fortune popping to the shop every few days, although I do need milk today.
I hope you all have good days, I shall be cleaning , corridor and up the stairs today, or maybe the conservatory.
Have fun xx
Hester I hope you feel better soon xx0 -
Morning all
It's Monday morning again already, OH already gone to work early and DS1 and DS2 up and having brekkie before getting ready for school. I'm up showered and about to have brekkie then will just need to do hair and make-up for work. Didn't eat the roast beef yesterday so have put in the slow cooker with red wine, stock and some veg for tonights tea, hope it's going to be ok. OH has a meeting tomorrow night so won't be home until very late so dinner will be just for me and boys. Not much else to report.
Hugs to those that need them and keep safe and well

Morning everyone - hope you're all well and have had a good weekend? :j
My DH has been off work for a few weeks now and is putting his time at home to good use - he's getting some kitchen practice in.... He made a haggis pie yesterday, so it's leftovers of that that we're having this evening along with some carrots and peas. Lunch will be a bowl of the lentil and bacon soup that I made last night.
This evening I start back at Choir practice and I'm looking forward to exercising my vocal cords in a different way for a change!
All the snow's gone with us and it's nice to be back to normal. Not even any ice here this morning, which is good too!
Hope everyone has a good day and hugs all round0 -
Good Morning everyone ,well Monday morning again, the weeks are fair whizzing by,Christmas seems like a distant memory doesn't it.The weather looks a bit grey and dull looking, but no rain is forecast.
I have my pal June coming for a couple of days, and we are doing some serious de-cluttering .She's brilliant at it ,we have three piles. One for the tip, one to save, and one for the charity shop. Going to do my wardrobe which is bulging with stuff that
a. is out of style
b. is too small
c. is just too darned old.
I'm dreadful at chucking things out I always think well I might fit into them one day but of course I never will.June is ruthless and says if I can remember you wearing this its too old (I have known her for almost 40 years) she is also coming along to my Uni class tonight as my tutor said to bring her rather than leave her sitting at home .It's a lecture about the Workhouse. Rather apt for January.Well I have decided that chicken salad and garlic bread for lunch, and a nice HM lasagne for dinner tonight should do for today.Well time to get a wriggle on and get into the shower, hope everyone has a good day even if it is Monday morning
Cheers Chums

Good Morning,
NicLou - Good luck if you have you op today.
Bitsy - I hope you got some sleep last night and I hope I didn't sound too bossy re controlled crying.
Im waiting in for my TD today. I knew it was on its way out and had been mended three times in the past 9 months. I absolutely cant manage without it as our house gets damp very easily and I have so much washing with 4 teens and 2 doggies. I had the OS debate with kids dad yesterday but we both decided it was a necessity and so he brought it for me which was very kind of him.
My DS2 has just landed a recipe for today food technology:mad: Anyway I was very proud of myself in the end cos I scanned through it and realised I had all the ingredients for it including breadcrumbs out of the freezer. In the past I would have had to dash to to the local shop and pay through the nose for ingredients but not now :T
Im hoping my cleaner is coming today as im really struggling to keep house cleanish. I need to get organised for that but just for half an hour Im gonna sit and enjoy the peace as all my kids have left the building.
Hope its not too manic a mondayxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Good morning all. Got through the weekend. I'm hoping to feel up to going to work Wednesday, increased my medication so feeling rather sluggish.
Place still not as I would like it due to inertia on my part. Managed to make a few nice dinners while dh was home, he's gone back this morning till Thursday night. HM burgers and wedges, had to make some bread rolls for that, Saturday we had quite a nice chicken and pork stewy thing with couscous. Seasoning needs pepping up on the recipe. ONe of dh's faves. Yesterday I planned to do bacon and tomato risotto but seemed to be a distinct lack of risotto rice, so did a yummy pasta dish with the same. Those semidried tomatoes in oil are sooooo goood!
I still haven't finished the laundry. It's never been something that was a problem for me, but at the moment my arms are sore and I'm having trouble ironing and pulling the rack up and down. Fed up about this. Seeing the physio for what will probably be the last time this morming. I think he's giving up the acupuncture and I don't think he has any more weapons in his ARMoury.
Got to do the school trip (round trip takes an hour) three times this week, but never mind. Weather is fine now. Someone normally gets ds on a MOnday, but he's on jury service for the next couple of weeks.
Hope you have a good OS day. I must look in on the flylady list!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Last day at home before I'm back at work tomorrow (boo, hiss). Going to cook a celery, walnut and Stilton bake for tea, and possibly some cookies
I also want to do more on my crochet, and make a list of crafting supplies for when I go shopping at the weekend :j
See you all later, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0
