Right the time has come. I've decided that today I am starting SW! I'm fed up with feeling rubbish about my weight and I know that only I can do something about it.

I am going to be doing it from home as I can't really afford to go to the meetings, I brought a disk with the books on it off Ebay but it isn't very portable :( I tried to print them out but they came out too small so am going to have to try and figure out a way to print them out.

I'm determined to give it a go as it can't hurt. I would like to lose about 3 1/2 stone in total, maybe a little more but am going to break it down into half stone chunks to try and make it more manageable I think.

I haven't read all through this thread yet but I will (it's going to to take me a while). Looking forward to joining you all :)

Question - is there a way to go directly to the first unread post on this board - I don't see one - it would save trawling through loads of pages (which is what I'm doing now!!)
    ..
The way I do it is read the messages. When finished save that page to favs. Next time you go to read, it will be at the last post you read. Read messages again, delete that fav and save to favs again. Sounds a bit tedious but I do it automatically now when I know I wont be on the computer for a while, as cant work out the way someone else on here explained that took you to your last read post.

Morning all (well it's almost afternoon!)

Well I did my at home WI this morning, and I was dreading the result as I have 2 off days last week and then I was away in London this weekend so was completely off plan. However I have lost 2 pounds this week :j:j:j:j:j I'm so pleased and it has made me more determined now to continue. If I can lose 2lbs in a bad week then I'm happy with that. I think a lot of it is due to exercising, I'm walking to work daily, plus we walked for miles round London.

    Green day today:

B - fried eggs (frylight) on 2 WW w/meal toast (HEB) with tiny bit of LF marg (1syn)
L - HM syn free celery soup with 2WW w/meal bread (HEB) and LF marg (1syn)
D - stirfry with tofu and egg noodles (dried) and black bean sauce (4 syns)
    Snacks - fruit, muller light

My HEA's will be skimmed milk for coffee, and a chunk of cheese at some point today

    Have a good day all

    Good afternoon everyone.

Well I had my WI today and lost 2lbs so I am :j:j
I was quite bad over the weekend as we were away and I have wine, a fondue and a McDnalds on the way home. However I did also do a lot of exercise and was very good last week so over all it worked!

Back on track today, now that I am back online! today I am eating:

B: 1 slice toast, butter (2 syns) banana
L: trout, baked potato adn cottage cheese (1 syn), carrots and broccoli
D: vegetable soup, slice toast, 30 g cheese.

    Syns, milk for coffee.
Snack fruit and a weight watchers yoghurt.

I must plan the rest of the week tonight so I don't go off course again.

Welcome to the SW thread. I've only been here a few weeks but enjoying it so far, and everyone here is really friendly and helpful. I'm not going to classes either but I think if you're really determined (and have the right materials) you can do it. Good luck! :)

Haha, he does! He's dying to unlock the advanced step, and I could swear that he was doing yoga last night while I was in the shower - all very worrying!!

BTW Gien and Flutterby - well done, great losses! :j

  • this is my menu for today:
B - mixed fruit with fat free fromage frais on top
L - mixed salad, a pkt of lean boiled ham & w.w. salad cream
T - m&s count on us meal of mini chicken fillets, mash & veg (5 syns) & extra veg
PUD - sugar free jelly with mixed fruit in.
    snacks - pkt mini ryvita's (HE) & 3 x mini babybel cheese's(HE)

Can anyone tell me, when making gravy using a stock cube, how can i thicken it, without using any syns?
Does anyone remember the old fashioned sweets - coltsfoot rock? it is like a 3" thin stick of sugary rock that tasts sort of anniseed flavour - i ate one last night, but have no idea of the syns, couldn't find it in any of the books or the database online, i only had 2.5 syns yesterday - up to eating the rock, so it probably doesn't matter for then, but i have another 6 in drawer!
