also could anyone tell me a free natural yogurt as i don't think they sell the one i use at tesco and i'm going to do a tesco online.

If it says very low fat or fat-free it will be syn free. There's bound to be one in Tesco, just a case of looking at the label :)

Hello, I haven't posted this year so far! I was doing really well, and last weigh in my total weight lost was 12lbs but then I had some very sad news, and being blunt, I ate to numb myself and couldn't bring myself to go to group, I am fairly sure i have gained about 4lbs, and although it isn't the end of the world, i feel a bit lost. I am having real issues staying focused, so I want to go back to group tomorrow to try to get back on track, I'm still fairly new to it, but does anyone know if I can just have a word with the consultant quietly as i think if i have to speak in front of the group i will cry my heart out (not about the weight gain just stuff) :(
Hope everyone is well, and i am now going to read the thread backwards! Well done to everyone x

I'm sorry you've had a bad time recently, but please don't worry about speaking to your Consultant. Just tell her not to ask you any questions during Image Therapy because you're feeling a little sensitive at the mo. You could even ring her before group if you prefer.

    Morning all :D

I'm going to have a try making SW quiche tonight. Anyone got any tips/hints?

    Hope the following recipes help.
    Quiches

Pasta quiche: Make up a packet of Batchelors Pasta n Sauce as directed on the packet but using only water, whisk in 3 eggs, pour into a flan dish and cook in a fairly hot oven until set (about 30-40 minutes).
Easy and really nice, especially when hot.
    * Do check the website for syn values for Batchelors pasta n sauces as the syns vary.

Syn free rice quiche: Make up a packet of Batchelors Savoury Rice as directed, whisk in 3 eggs and a large tub of very low fat cottage cheese. Season to taste. Pour into a flan dish and cook in the oven for about 30-40 minutes till firm to the touch.

Syn free onion & leek quiche : Chop 1 large onion and 2 leeks and saut! in Frylight till soft and golden. Put them into a flan dish. Whisk 3 large eggs with a large tub of very low fat cottage cheese, Season to taste, pour over the onion & leeks and put in the oven till set (again about 30-40 minutes on gas 6).

Syn free potato & onion quiche: Slice cooked new potatoes and red onion in the bottom of a dish. Mix quark or cottage cheese and 3 eggs together and pour over the potato & onion. Season with black pepper and cook for about 30 minutes or until set.

Basic Quiche: Mix together 4 eggs and a tub of low fat cottage cheese-Add to whatever you like ie cooked pasta and sauce, cooked 98% fat free noodles or even Heinz mean beans then bake in the oven until firm in the middle.

Well, I weighed in this morning at 13 sts 12 lbs.

I went to the gym this morning for an hour and had an omelette for brekkie and pork chops with veg for lunch. I didnt eat any of the veg, as it was disgusting, so now I am still quite hungry.

I love veg but don't know how to cook it nicely. What does everyone else do with their veg?

Also, where can I find nice SW recipes as I will get bored of meat and veg everyday.

Hiya foi, veg when over cooked is awful, so here are the basics ..
Mangetout/greenbeans/sugarsnap peas/mini corn, all take about 2 mins in boiling water.
    Sprouts 4 mins max
I personally think carrots boiled are boring, so I aways roast them.
Peel and chop into chunks, carrots, parsnips, butternut squash, swede, celeriac, any other root veg, pre heat oven to about 180 ish, spray baking sheet with fry light and roast all the veg for about 40 mins. You can even roast garlic, whole in its paper shell, yummy. Add some herbs to add flavour, say Thyme or Rosemary, dried or fresh. Add new potatoes as well if you want.

Or, chop Red, green peppers, courgettes, cherry tomatoes, put in a roasting tin with fry light and roast for about 30 - 40 mins. Again add garlic and herbs.

My children love veg when I cook them this way. Hope that helps. :D

I meant to try the quiche with the cottage cheese this week as they were all talking about it at class, but I forgot. Can you taste the cottage cheese? I really dont like cottage cheese but if it just disappears I might give it a go.
Im going EE today and having

B-bacon, mushrooms, eggs and polenta slices all fried in fry light.

L - 2 slices of nimble with goats cheese and tomato

D- Turkey stirfry with garlic, chilli, ginger and lemon. served with dried egg noodles.

Snacks fruit and yoghurt and a kit kat for a treat later.

I went for a long country walk with the kids and oh yesterday, we were climbing hills and going on a bear hunt lol.
Then today I went to Silverburn shopping and walked up and down 3 or 4 times, so I feel ive done a reasonable amount of exercise this week. Ive also walked up and down to nursery as the weather has been so nice. I hope it pays off as I feel quite good and have loads of energy this week.

Thanks so much for the recipes Consultant. I've just bunged in what I had - onions, mushrooms, peppers and sweetcorn. It's in the oven now, so I'll report back in a bit
