  • Well day 2 back on the plan and so far so good. I'm off at the moment so the real test will be when I'm back at work.

I have been to the gym for a couple of hours this morning and I plan on having another green day. The only fly in the ointment is that I am out for drinks with a friend tonight so must remember to order slimline tonic with my 4 gins! :)

    So far I have had:
2 poached egg with 2 slices of wholemeal toast (44g each) so one as a HE (B) and one as 5 syns. I used 2 laughing cow lights as my spread instead of marg.
    A banana and some grapes.

I want to eat before I go out so will have some HM carrot and ginger soup (free) and tropical fruit salad mid afternoon and then a jacket pot with the rest of my laughing cow allowance and some salad later on. My remaining HE's will go on SS milk and 2 muesli ryvita.

Hope you all have a good day :T

I love marions rice with blueberry muller & blueberries :D

can you tell me please, where you bought your muller blueberry flavour from?
i love blueberries and have them with all the yogurts, but have never seen blueberry flavour before!

I get mine at Tesco - it is a large store though, the smaller stores only sell a limited range.
When life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!

You can save them up but it's not really recommended by SW anymore - they think it leads to the starve/binge thing so they promote flexi syns these days which just boosts your syn allowance for the one day you need them and you have your regular amount of syns every other day i.e. you don't cut down.

My consultant has a poster up at class at the mo. She has 3 sw meals (cooked brekkie, egg/ham salad & I forget the other one) and those three meals in total have less calories than the one other picture of a meal which is steak & kidney pie, chips, mushy peas & gravy (70syns-1400 calories) - so they're doing something right ;)
    so did mine ol
    :)

    Hi all,

I was thinking this morning about exercise (just thinking about it mind! :p) and was wondering if anyone here does lots, and if it speeds up your weight loss or just makes you eat more. I keep reading about people in the SW magazines who have lost 8 or 10st in a year and I wonder if they do masses of exercise to sustain a high loss rate? I did used to go to the gym a lot, and lost around 3lb a week pretty much every week, but wasn't eating much at the time so suspect that was the main cause!

I was just pondering it as I really need to go back to the gym, but am torn between my work one, where I can go early morning before work and do cardio/weights but has rubbish classes, or one further away where I could probs only use the gym at weekends and some evenings but would have more and better classes. Hmm, what to do...?

Actually went on the Wii Fit last night - have only used it once before, to try the new toy when we first got it last year. In fact it told me when I got on it that 'your last workout was 287 days ago' :o I thought last time it was quite dull but only tried the yoga (phone rang half way through and was talking so long it switched itself off and I never went back on!!) - last night tried hula hooping and skiing, it was great fun! Inspired to do it regularly as my balance is awful and the physio has recommended it for my weak knee. Will get some dance games too, looking forward to trying some :)

    Hi Blodwen

Last year I did quite well on SW (lost around 2 1/2 stone, put it all back on! - rejoined last week) and used the Wii Fit most days for half hour a day. If you can get into the routine of doing it, it will really help you. It isn't just the actual exercise per se, but psychologically it made me feel like I was really doing trying to do something about my weight. Oh, and it is good fun. I like the step exercise best.

    Best wishes

Thanks all re. exercise. I should have said I'm already a member of the work gym as it's pretty cheap, but I don't use it anywhere near as much as I should and wondered whether going to a different one, and maybe classes, would inspire me. I agree that getting into the lifestyle of exercising regularly helps keep the weight off- when I used to go all the time I actually liked it, probably because I was fit instead of red-faced and puffing like I am now - should have kept it up *sigh*. I do enjoy the Wii and it's better than nothing but I see it more of a top up to other exercise than the main part (maybe the running part would be more strenuous but can't run due to dodgy knee, and possibility of causing foundations of house to shake). WoS- agreed it does make you feel like you're doing something, plus it's a good distraction in the evening (my worst time for snacking). Robpw- would also like to go swimming, not least as would be great exercise for knee, but also fear the beached whale look. However, I have seen bigger people than me in the pool before so if they can do it...

Good afternoon - lots of posts and thanks for the risotto recipe melda.

I'm trying to do twenty minutes of exercise a day as that's the guideline amount the keep talking about isn't it? I go on a cross trainer where twenty minutes is about 250 calories or go for a brisk walk. I go to two step classes a week in out local church hall which are great fun.
I've got a wii fit but never got into it. Apparently it's great to keep motivated. Blodwen, you'll be amazed at how quickly you get fit again if you do a little bit regularly.

What makes me get up and do it is not so much the weight los (although that's nice) but I'm more worried for my health than before and know I have to do some exercise to keep healthy.

I ate out last night and had a sole with saute potatoes. I don't think it was too bad as I didn't eat the sauce at all (well, melted butter) and didn't have dessert. Did have two glasses of wine though.

    So today my plan is:
    B; scrambled eggs and beans.
L: italian tuna salad (lettuce, rocket, toms, tuns, kidney beans, dressing 2 syns) yoghurt.
D: HM burger, WM bread (HEB) vegetables. Fruit for dessert.

Dairy is milk, or may have cheese later if I have only had a bit of milk in my teas. Snacks, probably a bit more fruit and I'll have a biscuit later with a cup of tea.

With the EE, 1/3 of the plate should be superfree (basically fruit and veg, right?) but does that also mean at breakfast?
    Trying to keep in budget.

    half a pack is between 8.5/9 syns so you've under-estimated I'm afraid.

Oooh where did you find that. I looked at the syns online thing. Just got my packet out of the bin and its 250g pre cooked weight, so I had 125g. Still trying to work out how many syns

Just on syns online under Giovanni then ricotta.
Hmm, if the pack size is different then it's awkward to work out but I think if you had 125g at the values above it would be 5.5syns. They only do the one pack size online.
