Hi Nic,
Well done for deciding to go to WI, I had the same dilemma this week as I've had an absolutely awful week with ex-husband and the bank and so comfort ate almost evertything in the house. I knew I'd put on but dont want to give up so soon, WI showed a gain of 4lbs. I knew I'd put on but am glad I went because if I hadnt I would have so easily been pulled in to the mindset of not counting odd things and continuing the comfort food. I know I feel better after a week of healthy eating (even if I do get a bit bored). Just think of the lovely dress you have waiting for you and what a special day your wedding day will be for you both, something wonderful to keep you motivated.
Much love and support,
Al x
Thanks Al. The things is I was the only one who gained last week and was the only one that didnt get a clap. I got praised for staying even though I gained. Everyone was really supportive and I said I would do well this week, so Im going to go in there and be the only one who gains again and have to explain it.
Ive never actually just went and weighed in and left, ive always stayed, but then again ive usually lost. The only times ive gained was when I gave up going to class.
Ill go along and see what the scales say. I hate wasting money, so that will also get me motivated, theres no point it paying almost a fiver for someone to weigh you and tell youve put on more weight lol.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
I cant blame oh fully as im a big girl and can make decisions on my own,, but hes given up SW so hes kind of suggesting the wrong things for tea and im not resisting very hard. Hes not saying that I should have it, its what he says he fancies, and I think ooh yeah I fancy a pizza too or fajitas.
Hi Nic,
I know how you feel - my OH was coming to class with me last year and is now meant to be following it with me now but if I didn't physically put the food in front of him he'd live on pizza. It is so easy to slip back into old habits if temptation is there and he isn't exactly encouraging to stay on track, but I've got a few things that I try when I'm tempted:
1) Tell him I AM NOT going to be a fat bride so if he wants to marry me he has to be totally supportive!! (I don't say I don't want him to be a fat groom, as I don't mind but I suspect he doesn't want to be so hope he thinks about this!)
2) Try and lead by example- my OH reckons he doesn't care about what size/weight he is, but then he goes on the Wii and moans about his weight and BMI. I just try to quietly get in with it and hope he'll follow my lead.
and my favourite...
3) Feel incredibly smug and superior when you refuse junk!!
It is bloody hard though, especially when you're fed up and not really feeling strong enough to refuse stuff when it's offered. Hopefully both you and OH will get back into the swing of things2011: [STRIKE]Houses[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]weddings[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]cats[/STRIKE]

Weight loss - Apr '12 -Sept '13: 95lb0 -
I had been doing reasonably well this week, some wine and fajitas on Saturday. And a few extras. But oh called me last night after enrolling at a college night class and asked me if i fancied a pizza. I didnt take long to think about it. I ate a WHOLE medium Sizzler pizza with garlic dip
:o.
The thing is Its Wi tonight and id gained 1/2 lb last week. Im too embaressed to go. I dont know why ive been so naughty those couple of days when ive been quite enjoying the plan. Ive had far too many syns to think about flexi syns now.
I need to get back into this as I was and am still determined that this is it, this is the year I lose the weight.
Oh and I were supposed to get married this year, but things changed with his job so we decided to wait until he was working again and had saved a bit. We only want a small humanist ceremony then a pub lunch for close family and friends then a big party at night. so we can do this at quite short notice. I already had my size 14 dress in my cupboard that was loose when I bought it in August.
Id be gutted if ive wasted all this time when I could of lost weight and got to target by the summer. At this rate ill never get there.
Right im going to go tonight and see the damage, if its really bad I might not stay to class, but if I just gained 1lb then ill stay and brave it out lol.
Tomorrow is a new week in SW terms. Im going to aim to do at least 2 days of exercise, or at least 30 mins a day. And im going to do a 100% week.
sorry for going on, just not feeling happy with myself after last night pizza binge

Don't worry - I did that the first time I did SW and was devestated - however I went on to lose 4.5 in my 2nd week and 3.5stone in 5 months! Chin up - it does and will work.
sorry skint-cat - i didn't read your signature!!slimming world start: 17.1.10 @ 200 lb's

Karen - I can't quite remember but I've seen it most places I've shopped - Asda, Morrisons & Sainsburys.
Nic, hope you went to class & I hope the damage isn't too bad. I know what you mean about the plan - when I've done any other 'diets' I would have killed to be able to eat as much as on SW but when I'm on SW I can't stick to it! Stupid isn't it.
Sit down tonight if you can and plan your week throwing in some 'junk' food if you need it (and make your own SW versions if you can) - how about a curry night on Saturday - curry, rice, onion bhaji's etc - all free!

Sadly I was very, very stupid & went back to my old binge eating habits and put it all back on plus 2 stone. I'm now back to my original starting weight (lost just over 2 stone since my heaviest) so have it all to lose again!0 -

this is the first time i have ever done SW though, it has taken a good week to get used to not count the calories in everything, but it is good, i actually feel more relaxed, knowing that i can eat something, if i's hungry - without having to count the cals.
can i save my syns - i am on the EE plan, if i don't eat all my syns allowed, can i save them up till weekend? or do i need to eat them everyday?slimming world start: 17.1.10 @ 200 lb's

Hi all,
I was thinking this morning about exercise (just thinking about it mind!) and was wondering if anyone here does lots, and if it speeds up your weight loss or just makes you eat more. I keep reading about people in the SW magazines who have lost 8 or 10st in a year and I wonder if they do masses of exercise to sustain a high loss rate? I did used to go to the gym a lot, and lost around 3lb a week pretty much every week, but wasn't eating much at the time so suspect that was the main cause!
I was just pondering it as I really need to go back to the gym, but am torn between my work one, where I can go early morning before work and do cardio/weights but has rubbish classes, or one further away where I could probs only use the gym at weekends and some evenings but would have more and better classes. Hmm, what to do...?
Actually went on the Wii Fit last night - have only used it once before, to try the new toy when we first got it last year. In fact it told me when I got on it that 'your last workout was 287 days ago'I thought last time it was quite dull but only tried the yoga (phone rang half way through and was talking so long it switched itself off and I never went back on!!) - last night tried hula hooping and skiing, it was great fun! Inspired to do it regularly as my balance is awful and the physio has recommended it for my weak knee. Will get some dance games too, looking forward to trying some
