I bought a load in Asda - yellow stickered ;) There were tons as I think everything thinks they're too pricy! I got about 6 boxes for 50p each - I just take some out of the freezer when I want the rice :D Do keep an eye out for yellow stickered ones as I do see them a lot.

  • Hello all - I've read the whole thread over the last two days! - I went and joined SW a couple of months ago but was unable to go to the classes (and in all honesty I wasn't prepared to do the diet having come from long history of low carbin - ) I'm still not able to go to the classes but I'm now ready to do the diet. A lot of my friends are doing SW and losing loads of weight!

I have a couple of goals in mind - I go on holidays in 6 weeks :eek!!: and would really like to lose in the region of a stone by then - I'm 14.4 but I'm pretty active (I train at least 5 days a week) second goal is that I have a wedding (in Portugal) to attend in 11 weeks.

I've been picking up loads of ideas on this site (thanks everyone!) and also going through the pack from start to finish!

I hope you all don't mind if I join in and pick your brains from time to time!

Here's hoping I can stick to it this time!!

    helloo and welcome :j

it sound like your in the right frame of mind for it this time. I it impossible to do if your doing it halfheartedly or for other reasons. You can still do red days if you want to keep it low carb.

    goodluck

  • Hello MSE Slimmers,

I'm not completely new to this but it's been so long I have had to set up a new account as I had forgotten my previous login details. Having previously been successful (ish) going to a SW group, I not in a position to anymore as I work shifts. I therefore signed up to SW online a few weeks ago but am not sticking to plan at all.

I think I am cheating because I don't have a group to chat to or for anyone to know if I am losing or not. That's where you guys will hopefully come in. :)

I am off on my hols in 8 weeks and would ideally like to lose 10lbs by then. The diet and exercise starts today and I will track both on here.

BTW I haven't go my head around EE so will be sticking to red and green for now.

Sor far today I have had:
    28g Oatibix HE (B)
SS milk from HE (A) allowance
HM leek and potato soup from SW recipe (1/2 syn)
    Wholemeal Tortilla wrap (8 syns)
3 mini babybel light HE (A)
    2 Muesli Ryvita HE (B)

    I intend to have later:
Veggie Stir Fry with egg noodles made up with a bit of ginger, garlic, chilli and soy sauce
1/2 sachet no added sugar Angel delight (5 syns)
    Fruit

I will go back a ready the thread now so am looking forward to your hints and tips.

    Thanks for reading

Thanks Nic2075, I am still trying to be positive as since 5/1/10 I have now lost 4lbs altogether and 1 inch from both bust and hips and 1.5inches from waist so something must be happening!! Went shopping and got lots of healthy things again, also got some fresh fish to try, I am just going to try really hard again this week and then if I am disappointed again it will be back to good old green!!! Thanks everyone for support and listening!!
    Goal weight....lighter than when I started :D

:hello: Happy Tuesday :D I'm in a silly mood 'cause I'm buying bubbles for my wedding! :happyhear

Anyway I feel a bit guilty posting my losses on here as I'm ony doing SW for 1 meal a day but I lost another 1.5lbs this morning - that's 3.5lbs in Jan - much better than I did in Dec! If I can lose 1.5 every week from now until the big day I'll be pretty happy!

Sorry I know this has been asked loads but I finally found short grain pudding rice in Asda :j:j:j

Marion's rice isn't on the first page and I cant find it :o this thread is soooooooooooo long

I am hoping that one of you very kind SW peeps can post it again for me please and I will copy and paste it somewhere safe :D

    Marions Rice:

Cook 1/2 cup of pudding rice in 1 cup of water for about 20 minutes (I use my remoska). Remove from heat put into a bowl, add fruit and a complementing muller yogurt and mix together! ie rice with sliced banana and toffee yogurt, rice with frozen blueberrys and a blueberry yogurt, rice with mandarin segments (chopped) and mandarin yogurt. For best results eat straight away while it is nice and warm! Tastes really nice and is very very filling! Also free on SW green and EE so can be made any time you fancy it really!

    Love
    Marion

Marions rice - for 1 person about half a cupful, cook, add yoghurt (and fruit if desired), eat!

    Thanks for that

I know I am probably asking a really silly question here :o but how much water and how long does the rice need cooking for?
