Hi,
I'm another one who has fallen off the wagon and I'm so annoyed at myself! I have about 3.5 stones to lose. I've signed up to SW online and am off to the shops tonight to fill the trolley with free food and green day food. I eat fish, but no other meat, do you think it's worth doing extra easy if I don't eat chicken, beef etc? I know that SW works as I've lost weight before, it's just sticking to it and getting the exercise done. Good luck everyone!0 -
I fell off the wagon two days running this week..........(slaps own wrist) and there was no real reason to. I'm therefore really lucky to have lost 1/2lb this week, phew! back on track tomorrow
Edit - forgot to mention too that it's my star week, which has made me crave sweet things like chocolate, I must try and find a chocolately treat's really low in syns for next time! They have the internet on computers now?! - Homer Simpson
It's always better to be late in this life, than early in the next0 -
Worried, you say you fall "off the wagon" after the first 6-8 weeks and then don't go to meetings - have you tried buying a countdown course? I did and it cost me £50 (you save slightly on normal prices) and as you'll not want to waste money you might find you go a bit more?
I definitely recommend staying for Image Therapy - I find it really interesting!Slimming World member - started 13 January 2010Starting weight: 11st 4.5lbs :eek:/ Current weight 11stMini Goal 1: 10st 11.5lbs (1/2 stone)10% Goal: 10st 2.5lbsMini Goal 2: 9st 9.5lbsGoal weight: 9st / 2.5lbs to MG1!0 -

And a bit mean really because I feel like I'm picking on someone who is a lot younger and obviously really inexperienced about these things. But then part of me also thinks that she's there to do a job and without some feedback how can she learn. It's just that thing that when someone is young and not confident (although hiding it) it's very hard to figure out how to say stuff without it really knocking them. And she is pretty open about not really knowing anything about cooking. Or indeed exercise
How do people get chosen to be consultants anyway out of interest? And do you have training or regular retraining sessions?
Young or not, she will have had the same training as the rest of us and should definitely be encouraging members to buy fresh, healthy foods and cook from scratch wherever possible - despite what her personal cooking habits are. Nobody could live on Mugshots and the like for long without becoming bored to tears and feeling lethargic too. Most people who embrace Foof Optimising as it should be done, comment on how much more energy they have and that's down to the healthy food.
If you want to become a Consultant you could attend an open day event. They are held roughly once a month in different areas up and down the country. These give you all the info you could ever need to make up your mind if it's for you. There is no obligation, but if you were interested, you leave your name and address with the area manager and they will ring you at home at a later date. Mostly all you need is to be at (or almost at) your personal target, have a passion for SW and enjoy helping people
Training days are held regularly at head office in Alfreton, Derbyshire and we are expected to attend at least once every two years. There are separate sessions on Food Optimising, Image Therapy and Body Magic, so there's no excuse for a Consultant to pass on duff information :mad:I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Have you tried Options or Highlights hot chocolate drinks? They are around 2 syns each and do help to overcome that urge for a bar of (very synful) chocolate. Or one of the sachets mixed into a pot of very low fat fomage frais (or 0% Greek yoghurt) is nice too.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Hi all,
Don't know if you remember me, I was around for a while in Nov/Dec. Basically I fell off the wagon massively and was too ashamed to show my face around here!! Been struggling since new year to get back on track- have been trying to count calories but it's such a faff - can't be doing with having to count the calories in everything from sugar free squash to frylight and veg!
Anyway, back to good old SW - going to visit the folks tonight and my mum has started SW again so hoping a weekend on plan will give me the kickstart I need.
Have a great weekend everyone x
Don't ever be ashamed to come back. You don't fail by losing the plot, what makes you fail is when you stop trying!
Most of us have fallen by the wayside countless times, but as long as we keep trying, there's every chance we'll succeed.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Go onto the website and have a look at some of the meal plans and recipes on there. If you have the magazines, there's always a 7 day plan there too. If you normally drink quite a lot of tea or coffee and have cut down, that may well be why you're having headaches - it's a sort of withdrawal symptom and will pass after a couple of days.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0
