  • Hi,
Have been dipping in & out of thread & previous threads for a wee while now, finally plucked up courage :):):):)for wee sis & I to go to a class ( I prev attended the WW:eek::eek::eek::eek: ) have a few daft questions & wonder can anyone answer.
For breakfast I normally have 2 slice toast & banana & milk in my coffee or tea Lunch on workdays would be another 2 slice bread / cold meat or cheese maybe crisps or cup a soup.
Evening meal would be the potatoes / veggies / meat / fish.
Got myself in a fankle :mad::mad::mad:trying to work out syns for bread ? cheese ? crisps ? or cup a soup & theres no way I can give up milk in tea or coffee.
Couldn't buy the books @ the class as you have to order them & collect them next week.:mad:
How do you work out the syns if you don't have access to them in the books.
Sorry its been a bit longwinded but really determined to give this a go.
    TIA

Hi, first of all you should of got a pack when you joined and your green food optimising book will give you all the info regarding milk and bread. You can have these as your healthy extras. I recommend you sit and read it as Im still finding stuff out a year and a half down the line. the book also has syns info, it doesnt have everything so going online should give you all the info. You should of got a password at class, you can use this to log into slimmingworld.com and on there you can check all the syns and great recipe ideas.

If theres a specific item you want to check feel free to ask us and we might know the syns or one of us will look it up if your stuck.

Im a bit confused about your meal plan, is that what you are eating now on SW or is that what you would normally eat before joining? If you write it all down brekkie, lunch etc and tell us what plan you are on we could maybe help you in the right direction.

Dont feel your stuck someone will always know the answer.

Hi everyone, had an ok day again today starting to feel a little bit worried that I might not lose anything this week (don't know why I suppose it's just because I haven't done EE before.
B - Scrambled eggs on toast and tea (HEB , 1 syn for sugar, 1 syn for tbsp of ketchup on toast)
L - Ham Salad sandwich, french fries (5 synd bread, 1 syn for 1 tbsp mayo, 4 syns for crisps)
D - Spaghetti Bolognese and 1/2 tbsp of parmasan (1/2 a for cheese)
    S - coffee (1) apple.

So have had 13 syns today, going to try and make a tuna pasta salad or similar for work on saturday as I have synned myself an extra B group again today which seems a bit of a waste really but nevermind. Just really hope I lose something/anything!!!
    Goal weight....lighter than when I started :D

Meandmyboy, just re read your post. And realise you are saying thats what you would have on a normal day.

You could try and have a free breakfast like eggs and bacon, marions rice (see first page of thread) or a fry up done in fry light.
That way you can save your bread (healthy x B) for lunch time. I know you like cup a soups, not sure about the syns of those but maybe if your organised you can make some homemade free soup and take it in a flask.
Dinner can still be your meat, veg and tatties or whatever you fancy.
You would still have syns for a treat at night or your packet of crisps at lunchtime.

If im out and stuck I usually go that 100cals is roughly 5 syns. It doesnt always work out like that if there is a lot of fat etc, but thats pretty close. I do that if I have no idea of the syns then check when im home.
The key is being organised and checking syns then shopping for the things you like then working them into the plan.

Oh my goodness Catt, they're so gorgeous! I think maybe the second one (Bonny) may be more flattering if you're not at your ideal weight, just because the fuller skirt will make your waaist appear tiny.

Thanks - yes I think that's true though the other was slightly better boned. One more shop tomorrow lunch then I need to make a decision really to get it in time! I think my first choice is now the Bonny though initially it was the A.Angelo.

BTW - I was so petrified my Mom would make snide comments about my weight when we went to try them on - but she didn't and on the phone later when I got home she told me I looked really beautiful in all the dresses! Didn't mention the flab poking out the back of the size 12's! ;) Meant so much to me!

(p.s. where has the 'confused' shrugging smilie gone???!)

Thanks Marion, they must have sold out at my Asda as I looked on the right Isle. I bet everybody bought it to make Marions rice pudding:T
I will try basmati for now and look out for the pudding rice.

    Thanks again.

In my Asda it's on the top shelf above all the normal rices.

Actually it is not there anymore! I think it was on the last thread for a week or so but then this new one started and it didn't get transferred over!

    Just a flying visit

Breakfast: Choc weetos & milk (5.5 syns & HEA)
Lunch: <1% fat chicken mugshot & toffee mullerlight
Dinner: chicken & bacon pasta bake (off SW site) (2.5 syns)
    Snack: Alpen light bar

    Not too bad I suppose
  • Ooh this is awful and totally against everything SW stands for. I honestly think you should ring head office and mention it to them. The Consultant obviously needs some training

The whole philosophy promoted by Margaret Miles-Bramwell (the founder of SW) is to eat fresh, healthy foods, cooked from scratch not oodles of rubbishy fast-food. This is NOT the answer to how to be slim and healthy for life. It would be great if next week you could ask her how she feels Mugshots fit in with a healthy eating plan!

Thanks for this consultant, I was really starting to feel a bit down about the whole thing. And a bit mean really because I feel like I'm picking on someone who is a lot younger and obviously really inexperienced about these things. But then part of me also thinks that she's there to do a job and without some feedback how can she learn. It's just that thing that when someone is young and not confident (although hiding it) it's very hard to figure out how to say stuff without it really knocking them. And she is pretty open about not really knowing anything about cooking. Or indeed exercise :)

How do people get chosen to be consultants anyway out of interest? And do you have training or regular retraining sessions?
