Hi again, luckily I had put some back in the fridge, that's really good for me I would usually eat them all!! I weighed one and it was 26g and they are all roughly the same. Used all my Syns on it but it was worth it :rotfl:0 -

However in a pinch you can use just normal long grain or even basmati rice. It tastes a little different but is still syn free!

Thanks Marion, they must have sold out at my Asda as I looked on the right Isle. I bet everybody bought it to make Marions rice pudding:T
I will try basmati for now and look out for the pudding rice.
Thanks again.0 -
Hi I really want to try SW chips I'm sure I have read on a forum somewhere that you can make them without parboiling has anyone tried doing them this way.
Also are Morrisons eat smart pork sausages still free, don't get there very often but going on Saturday

Last night our consultant decided not to go through all of the weight loss/gains (obviously a relief for me!!) and just talk about issues people are considering. But...how to say this nicely...her answer to almost everything is mugshots. Which I would not put into my body in a fit. There was a major discussion on which potnoodles are SW friendly and the fact that those pasta and sauce mixes are great. I was finding myself getting increasingly irritated because I really genuinely thought SW was about eating healthily and as far as I can tell these things are c**p. Starting to worry SW somehow profits from sales of some of this stuff? Anyone else experiencing this? It was bad enough that I could see a lot of the older members feeling sort of the same as me. But worse that younger members were clearly taking notes on how mugshots are the answer to weightloss...
I have been aware of this for a while but I think moving to an open discussion just made it all worse. It seems so far from the SW philosophy according to the books etc.
Will be really interested to hear how others are finding this aspect of SW...
Ooh this is awful and totally against everything SW stands for. I honestly think you should ring head office and mention it to them. The Consultant obviously needs some training
The whole philosophy promoted by Margaret Miles-Bramwell (the founder of SW) is to eat fresh, healthy foods, cooked from scratch not oodles of rubbishy fast-food. This is NOT the answer to how to be slim and healthy for life. It would be great if next week you could ask her how she feels Mugshots fit in with a healthy eating plan!I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Haven't had time to post on here or read all the posts as work shifts so not always online.
Think I am doing ok but my Wii Fit has me as BMI of 30 again today when it had been 29 - not happy. Hope its just a blip but due TOTM soon so maybe just that.
Well done to all this week's losers. WI day on Sunday but not holding my breath. The good thing is that I am starting at the gym tomorrow and did lose 4lb last week on my 2nd week after only losing 1lb the first week.0 -

Morrisons eat smart are free but only the chilled ones, not the frozen. SW chips I always parboil then give them a good shake in the pan to rough up the edges - it gives a nice crunch to the finished article. It is possible to do without the parboil though, they'd just take longer to cook. Either way, they're delicious with a couple of runny-yolked fried eggs mmmmmmmmI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

hello everyone..
i started slimming world in Jan 09 and managed to lose 2st 10lbs by Aug so was very pleased. After that, I let it go a bit and put alot of the weight back on, especially over xmas. I am now back and raring to go again, i think even more commited than last time, and the good news is, i started 2010 1st1lb lighter than 2009 so im pleased about that.
I dont go to classes, i just do what i can with books off ebay etc and help on here and other forums. I have joined a gym and been going most days to do some kind of activity and am starting to feel like i have a routine starting.
I have had a great start to the year and already lost 10lbs, although i think it was quite easy as i had lost it last year also. So as it stands, I am 1st11lbs down from my heaviest weight of 17st9lbs.
My goal is to get to 14 stone, and I am currently 15st12lbs.
as i said, all your messages on here really help shy blokes like me that dont have the balls to go to classes so thanks for that..
Il hopefully keep you all up to date with any progress..
also, if needed, im here to help if i can..
Please don't be shy
I'm sorry no-one seems to have acknowledged your post, but that's only because it is so busy on here at the mo as you can see. I can't believe we're on page 10 of the new thread already
For you and other slimmers who find that they lose so well with SW but put weight on when they 'lose the plot'........the answer is, of course, to really embrace the whole idea of healthy eating. This is not a diet, you're learning a valuable life lesson which should keep you and your family healthy and slim for ever.
If, every time you seem likely to go off the rails, you ask yourself how much you really want to be slimmer and healthier, and whether that is more important to you than the fleeting pleasure of a Mars bar (or whatever), it may give you enough time to back away from the chocolate and find another treat. If not, then I always think that you should put it behind you and move forward, determined to do better tomorrow.
Slimming takes commitment, even a plan as easy and generous as Food Optimising. If you're not commited, it won't work long term, but you can always keep trying till the commitment arrives
Right, I've got off my soapbox, sorry, I do get carried away sometimesI let my mind wander and it never came back!0
