PS, if anyone likes them, Ryvita minis are five packs for £2 in Asda at the moment. I've only just discovered them, not bad at all for an emergency healthy extra.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

4 fish fingers would only be 12 syns, so as long as you never had anything else...

The HEB - I know the answer from a consultant would be no but...

Ok so your HEB is so you get enough fibre. Now fish fingers are unlikely to contain fibre but if you were eating something else fibrous (baked beans for example) you are still getting your fibre so essentially 'could' use you HEB allowance of 6 syns for something else.

Blimey that's a convoluted way of looking at it - and cheating as well  Sorry but really, there's no way fish fingers can be counted as a HEB. Shaz, just count the syns - if they're really what you want (need) then it'll be worth it and after all, that's what syns are for.

Morning everyone, I am in need of a kick up the rear! Last night i went for dinner, Wagamama, which was lovely, but i dread to think how many syns... as i had a glass of wine, juice, and.... a curl wurly when i got home........ This would be ok, but i am increasingly finding myself having flexi-syn days, and not sticking to it at all, and soon i may as well just give up :( I know i need to drink more, and stop snacking. Any ideas on subtle ways to keep myself motivated?

Plan plan plan. The key to success is in successful planning - before you go shopping write a quick list of meal / snack ideas for the whole week, then you will know what you need to buy and have an idea in your mind of what meals you are having in that week. The easiest way to 'have a bad day' is to come home hungry wondering what an earth you are going to eat. If you do have a bad day, don't panic. Forget it and start again tomorrow.

It is all too easy to fall into the rut of having certain meals on certain days, try to vary what you eat (including Healthy Extras). Someone once told me to aim to eat a rainbow every day - colourful food is almost always very low syn or even syn-free.

I can get it at both my local Tesco and Asda but they are both larger stores. If you go to their web sites and do a search for it you can see what the packet looks like because it is different at both places. It is with the soft cheeses but not the philidephia type ones - it is at the opposite end of the aisle from those.

Thank you Marion. I checked the Asda site and my store def doesn't stock it - i had a good root round the cheese section last time i went shopping and i would have noticed the packaging. I will definately try make a trip to tesco :)
My Mr M sell quark its where the cottage cheese is

    HTH

i only go to Mr M at lunchtimes (as its close to where i work) and its always sooo busy so i dont get the chance to root round... i shall def have a look next time i go in there :)

    Thank you! :)

I want to make a low syn lemon cheesecake with it :D
All hail to the sale!!!!!!

Hi, Been following your thread for a few days now think there are some great ideas and tips and would love to be part of it. Ive been going to SW for 9 weeks and am 1lb away from my 1 and a half stone award. Found it really hard going the last couple of weeks , last week craved crisps and chocolate chips etc and had quite a lot of it totally disregarded my sins but managed to lose 4lb and be slimmer of the week. Dont quite understand how that happened but definately not knocking it!! The upshot is my motivation has returned so hopefully I wont fall back into bad habits again x

Hi and welcome to the thread!!!

Do you normally have your full syn quota? Or do you keep it low?

It has been said on here a few times that you tend to lose more if you have your daily syn allowance :)

We all get a bit disheartened from time to time and your (fab :T) 4lb loss sounds like its given you the boost you needed. :D If you want chocolate tho, have some! (my personal fave are 12g bags of milky way magic stars @ 3.5 syns a bag) thats what the syns are for!!
All hail to the sale!!!!!!

Hellooooooooo, it's very dark and lonely in here, where is everybody????? :rotfl:

Good Morning Consultant! I'm here but will be going down the park soon with Charlie for his morning p**:o

I made a lovely chilli last night with minced beef steak (drained), onions, kidney beans, chick peas and baked beans plus a tin of tomatoes and loads of chilli powder. Now on EE I know this is free.
As you know I sometimes have issues with my consultant when I just don't agree with her:D so thought I would question you on this one. She has said that if I have something for dinner one night I should not have the left overs for lunch or dinner the next day as it means I am not getting the variety of foods I need? But surely if I only have it for one meal a day for two days running it can't really affect my weight loss? I don't have room in my freezer to put it and like to use things up as quickly as possible. Last nights chilli was served with basmati rice and todays will be on a jacket potato.
    What is your opinion?

    Thank:)s
    Marion

Morning all, I'm around too !
I have a quick question - my friends went to the Vitality show last weekend and said they were surprised not to see SW there, especially when Rosemary Conley and WW had stands. Was there a reason why SW didn't go or has it just not worked for them in the past? Quite irrelevant really but I am just a bit nosy...;)
I was going to take over the world but got distracted by something sparkly.......

I'm wondering about this over consuming thing now. One of my favourite quick suppers for a green day is a packet of savoury rice with a 2 egg cheese omelette and baked beans. Is that over consuming on the rice?

    My day yesterday was

bf sachet of plain oatso simple with chopped banana and sweetener

lunch 4 x orig ryvita with dairylea light and a banana

    afternoon snack 2 pears

supper savoury rice, cheese omelette (frylite) and baked beans

dessert 2 slices of fresh pineapple

    late night munchies 2 pears

So lots of fruit there and I thought I was being really healthy having so much fruit, but am again wondering about the over consuming of that.
Some people see the glass half full, others see the glass half empty - the enlightened are simply grateful to have a glass :)

Blimey I shall look out for a response to this, thanks for bringing it up - I try to cook on Sunday for most of the week. I work full time long hours and cannot afford the time to be cooking a fresh meal each day for my lunch (take into work and microwave it) though I do vary the accompaniments (carbs and vegetables), that's why I only ever cook the meat in the slow cooker rather than a casserole or stew otherwise I'm landed with the same vegetables for the week as well as the same meat. I've never heard that one shouldn't eat "left overs" - I remember the *ahem* old days when a joint of meat would last a family most of the week and there weren't nearly as many overweight people then.

By the way Marion each time I read a post of yours I giggle when I get to the sig line about the speed bumps. Sig lines can (imo) be irritating but yours is so funny :rotfl:
