I can get it at both my local Tesco and Asda but they are both larger stores. If you go to their web sites and do a search for it you can see what the packet looks like because it is different at both places. It is with the soft cheeses but not the philidephia type ones - it is at the opposite end of the aisle from those.
When life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!

I have a potential stoopid question

I want fishfingers nay need fishfingers i thought they would be quite low as fish is effectively free or a HEB (on green & EE) but 3 syns each for my brand !!! i appreciate that they are pre fried and covered in bread so understand why they are not free

Would it be wrong to use my HEB on these ie knock 6 syns of the total syn value ideally i would like to eat 4 i guess i could always just pick the fish out but have had a mad craving.......

4 fish fingers would only be 12 syns, so as long as you never had anything else...

The HEB - I know the answer from a consultant would be no but...

Ok so your HEB is so you get enough fibre. Now fish fingers are unlikely to contain fibre but if you were eating something else fibrous (baked beans for example) you are still getting your fibre so essentially 'could' use you HEB allowance of 6 syns for something else.
  • Hi, Been following your thread for a few days now think there are some great ideas and tips and would love to be part of it. Ive been going to SW for 9 weeks and am 1lb away from my 1 and a half stone award. Found it really hard going the last couple of weeks , last week craved crisps and chocolate chips etc and had quite a lot of it totally disregarded my sins but managed to lose 4lb and be slimmer of the week. Dont quite understand how that happened but definately not knocking it!! The upshot is my motivation has returned so hopefully I wont fall back into bad habits again x

can you not put the cals, carbs proteins etc into syns calculator and put down the fish as free food allowance, would that bring the syns down or are they already calculated with the fish as free?

i know oven chips already have potato included as free but you never know xx

    Thanks guys

I am having beans :0) I do have enough syns but wanted a treat later, i think i will risk counting them as a HEB plus 6syns a HEB is 6 syns isn't it ? I have been good all week and not used all my syns so hopefully no difference.....off to try the calculator first

Can anyone give me a 'recipe' for tasty filling, low-syn potato/pasta salads? I've never been good at making them taste any good!

    THanks :D

My potato salad recipe is a variation of an old Madhur Jaffrey recipe and is minus the oil and with fat free yog instead of full fat.

Cut cooked cooled potatoes into small cubes (I leave the skin on, your choice).

Dry fry (use frylight) in a pan or in the microwave your favourite ground spices - chilli, cumin, coriander etc, and some whole cumin and mustard seeds too if you like. Don't let them burn, but they do need to release their flavours a bit, so just a minute of cooking.

Now you choose what to do:
    (1) stir the spices well into some fat free plain yoghurt and then add the potatoes and coat gently with the yoghurt mix
    or
    (2) toss your potatoes into the hot spices and "fry" them in the spices for a couple of minutes, then allow to cool a little before adding to your plain yoghurt.

Either way it's lovely, and I have a feeling it's you that said you add chilli to everything (tried chilli flakes in salad? divine):T
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!
