What are syns like in the lemon curd constultant? (I know there's a jar in the cupboard waiting to be opened) That sounds so appealing to me, I adore greek yoghurt, it would be lovely with some fresh fruit chopped in for breakfast or as a pud.

Lemon Curd is low in syns at ½ syn per level tespoon. I usually put about 4 level teaspoons in half a large tub and it's just gorgeous. If you've syns to spare, you can crumble in a mini meringue nest at about 3 syns, for an even more authentic lemon meringue pud.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

    Hi All,
hope you don't mind me joining the gang! Just had my first weigh in yesterday and lost 2 pounds.
To be honest I was a bit dissappointed as I thought a first week loss would have been about 4 pound. I am doing it with my sis and it was her 2nd week (she lost 3 1/2 the 1st) and a pound yesterday. She has followed this loads in the past and always done really well.
I love the diet and have tried it before but for some reason I don't do too well at all on it for some reason.
I had a little boy 5 months ago and the weight just doesn't come off easily and didn't with my little girl either (went on lighter life in the end in desperation)! But I'm defo not doing that again and want to do it sensibly.
I am following it to the letter so hope I lose more next week.
Still a loss is a loss and myself and sis are exactly the same weight now and there is some fierce competition!
Also, I only ever use syns for sugar in my tea and coffee which is fine and I have no more than 4 cups a day.
    Sorry for the ramble!

Welcome Lisa! SW is a good sensible way to lose weight - plus it will be healthy for the whole family to have too - not like lighter life:( Stick to the plan and you will lose weight!
A friend of mine went on that light life diet, it cost her a fortune and she lost loads of weight - then put every single stone back on plus a couple extra:eek: I used to feel sorry for her on our lunch breaks when I would be having a huge meal and she would be drinking anothe litre of water:rotfl:

    Marion:)
When life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!

I had abad day today, i'm so cross with myself, it's my own fault, I skipped breakfast, then got stuck on the M25 for ages, then had an appointment with my solicitor, went straight from there to get a new mobile dongle, by which time It was 1.45pm so I stupidy had a Mcdonalds! I could punch myself I really could!
As soon as I ate it I regretted it, it made me feel sick for hours after.
Now I've probably gone and undone all my hard work, I went for another walk but know it wont counter act it, I dont even know how many sysn are in a CBO meal :(

Hi Lisa! First of all, try not to get too hung up on the numbers. I was convinced my first week that after hearing of all these people who'd lost half a stone in their first week that I'd be the same, so I was a bit disappointed to only lose 3! But not I'm looking at it as that as long as I'm not putting on, it's still a step in the right direction, no matter how long it takes.

I wouldn't restrict yourself just to using your syns for sugar either - personally I've switched to sweetner for my tea (I like mine very sweet, to think I used to have the equivalent of 4 heaped teaspoons in each cup & up to 4 cups a day at one point!) and I use my syns for a 'treat' when I feel that I need one. By keeping my main meals mainly syn free it means that if I want something nice to nibble on when I'm having my afternoon cuppa I can and still manage to stay below 10 syns (which is my aim)

Good luck with it all anyway, at least you've got a family member going for motivation/competition - for me it's my mother, and I'm catching up to her weight loss fast! :D

Not so thrilled - had my wi yesterday and have gained 1lb :(- really not sure how ! But am trying to get over it and will now be keeping food diary just to make sure I am not sneaking anything in. Also, will try and up my water intake as I am only just having my first glass of water (had 3 cups of tea this morning but nothing in between).
Just feel a bit sorry for myself right now but am getting loads of inspiration from all you lovely posters.:)
I was going to take over the world but got distracted by something sparkly.......

Had WI last night, lost half a pound, so 5.5 in 5 weeks. It's going down slowly but at least it's going down!! It's my 40th tomorrow so going out for a meal and I'm going to have WHATEVER I fancy. As I've said before I can't have any really naughty desserts because of the wheat intolerance so hopefully the damage won't be too much. I don't drink either so just be diet coke for me :) A lady at my group has been doing this for quite some time and has lost 5lb in the last two weeks - the only thing she said she's doing different is drinking more water, so am going to try to increase my water intake to see if it speeds things up for me. Here's hoping :D
Some people see the glass half full, others see the glass half empty - the enlightened are simply grateful to have a glass :)

Everything is either creamy, confit or with butter! Id go for the organic salmon for a main or a steak. Id save a hea and have the goats cheese starter and avoid the croutons, or the smoked mackerel, although sm.mackeral has synns.
I think youll have to flexi syn it as everything is pan fried. Enjoy your night.
