Im sorry if Ive posted this on the wrong thread, I just thought that experienced slimming worlders would be able to advise me, oopsjellytastic wrote: »I lost 7stone last year mostly on cambridge diet then by counting calories - im fed up of counting calories now and have decided to do food optimising instead as I would like to lose another 8lbs.
I have done slimming world before and it was successful however I was 8 stone overweight, my life has changed alot recently and I am concerned that slimming world wont work for me now that I am so close to goal and in addition to that i am disabled now and unable to exercise.
Do you think I can achieve success on slimming world with so little left to lose and being so inactive, I can only consume 1200 calories a day to maintain my weight so I cant believe I can eat larger quantities of food and still lose.
Any input would be most appreciated, thanks in advance x0 -
Hi jellytastic - sorry none of us replied - we weren't ignoring you on purpose!
TBH it's hard to say - every 'body' is different. SW DOES work if you follow the plan 100% even without exercise though people close to target do struggle regardless.
All I can advise is to try it and see - SW are the only people to offer a money back guarantee if you join, attend 4 classes & don't lose anything. you will have to submit food diaries to your consultant though in order to qualify.0 -
how can you put a 1lb on from going to toilet?? lol
i weighed myself out of curiosity before and after having a pee and i gained a pound afterwards lol :eek:0 -
thank you skintcat! I cant afford to join a club as I am unable to work these days and my husband has had to stop work to care for me, so we havent any spare income for slimming clubs unfortunately.
do you know what the class leader would suggest for losing last few pounds, Ive no idea how many syns i should be having as when I was a member before I had so much to lose and could have 15 syns a day.
I really need to be at my optimum weight as I have muscular dystrophy and my muscles are weak anyway without carying any surplus weight, also its easier for my husband if Im not overweight. Im sure many people will be wondering why Im bothering when Im so close to target, but that is the reason.
thanks again xx0 -

you know i found in the past when i was eating very few calories, my weight wasnt going up or down, but after going on a diet that required me to eat more food and calories it actually made me lose weight
so never be afraid to eat more calories if its on a diet plan cos you maybe surprised just how well they work when you stick to it xxxx0 -
Jellytastic - that last bit is always the hardest not really a sw expert so not going to attempt to advise you but well done on what you have achieved so far
Todays delights are:
Green again!
Brekkie- toast(heb) plum toms and a poached egg
Lunch - couscous and bean salad yoghurt and fruit
Dinner - Noodles with leftover roast beef(heb) and free veggies with soy and chilli
snacks - grapes, pears and a curly wurly
Feel a bit dehydrated today but been out and about so difficult to drink as much due to toilet access issues!
Been taking an echinacea and a multi vit supplement for a couple of weeks and am finally feeling human after a spate of operations and illnesses and infections.........could be down to the change of diet too or even the emergence of the sun , i swear i have SAD but today i felt GOOD!!

Hectic day at work so no time for snacking!
Green Day for me:
B - Shreddies (HEB) with Skimmed Milk (HEA)
L - couscous, celery/cucumber/pepper sticks, mangetout, hard boiled egg and free yogurt
D - 2 potato waffles (3syns), beans, 2 eggs fried in frylight.
Snacks - SF Jelly (2syns) LF Creme Fraiche (1.5syns)
Need another HEA and maybe a HEB. Thinking of a snack of cheese later and some apricots.

Well everyone's advised to have 5 - 15 syns per day regardless of how much you have to lose.
Personally I would try to go to at least one class to get the new books & a refresher talk as things have changed this year (with the intro of Extra Easy) but if you just want to do it with your old books then I would think you will probably lose weight just from the change in the way you eat.
Personally I would;
make sure you drink plenty
stick to SW 100%
base all meals around superfree/speed foods (fruit & veg) first then add free & HEx's as added bonuses (but do make sure you have them!) - this is how it's supposed to be anyway but sooo many people don't do this and go straight for free foods.
Give it a go - you've only got 'lbs' to lose0 -
Evening all,
Well after my really bad week I lost the 3lbs that I put on last week, that takes me back to where I started when I 1st joined. I'm happy with that
Today was EE:
B = 2 weetabix (B), 250ml semi skimmed (A), melon
L = Sun dried tomato ciabatta (10.5 ) ham, 50g cheesy coleslaw (5.5), lettuce, tomato, onion
D = Plaice, cajun wedges, leeks, brocolli, mangetout, mushy peas, tomato sauce (2)
Total syns 18, did go for an hour and half walk to feed ducks though so not too disapointed that I've gone over.0 -
bit of a weird one, but has anyone given blood before and then gone for a weigh in? My weigh in is thursday morning, and I'm considering donating (I've never done it before), either weds or thursday (after weigh in), but I'm kind of put off to go on wednesday and then have a 'false' weight on the scales simply because I've got less blood, I wouldnt mind if it was about a 1lb difference, but if makes much more of a difference than that I don't want to appear to have gained the following week...
They take less than a pint of blood out, you get a drink after (the one before is optional at my donor place) so one will balance the other - just make sure you don't succumb to the biscuits on offerI let my mind wander and it never came back!0
