  • Can I ask if anyone here takes Cerazette (mini pill)? I've read that it can be difficult to lose weight whilst taking it and that might explain why I'm just not losing. I'm so fed up, have been doing this for almost 3 weeks and only lost a pound! I'm going to continue though because I enjoy it, but it is getting me down not seeing the scales moving :(
Previous to this I used to eat lots of chocolate - sometimes 3x 200gm a week  lots of crisps and a huge amount of cheese everyday, so just by not doing that anymore I thought I would've lost a bit more?
Some people see the glass half full, others see the glass half empty - the enlightened are simply grateful to have a glass :)

After only losing 1/2 lb last week I have lost 4lb this week :j and its my TOTM so wasnt thinking I would lose that much :D

Thanks consultant for the soup recipe - need to look at some more soup recipes as getting bit bored with mine at mo.

Well done on your excellent weight loss, bet you're :j

I have loads of soup recipes if you'd like some. My favourite is butternut squash - it's so easy and really, really tasty:-

    Butternut Squash Soup

    1 large butternut squash
    1 large onion
    Frylight
    2 pints hot water
    1 teaspoon curry powder
    1 teaspoon ground ginger
    2 vegetable stock cubes
Very low fat natural yoghurt (optional)

Peel, de-seed and chop the squash into 1” chunks.
Dry fry the chopped onion in Fry Light for 2 mins in Frylight.
Add curry powder & ginger and cook for a further 1 minute.
Stir in the cooked squash and add the stock cubes & 2 pints of water
Bring to the boil, and then simmer for 30 mins.
Puree in blender and serve with a swirl of low fat yoghurt if liked.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Well there's one thing for sure, if you've stopped eating the chocolate and cheese, you'll have done your heart a big favour. You should be finding that your body is losing inches even if it's not showing on the scales.

Are you absolutely sure that you're following the plan 100% because, there are very, very few medicines which affect weight loss?

Do you check that what you think is a healthy extra actually is?
Do you weigh/measure your healthy extras?
If you're following the Extra Easy plan are you having just one of each HE?
Again for EE, are you having the third of a plate of superfree foods?
Are you weighing/measuring any syns and are you counting them properly?
Are you eating enough and drinking enough water?
Are you having a big variety of different foods?

Please don't be offended at the questions, it can be hard to see no loss on the scales, but more often than not, it's just some simple thing that you're doing wrong. In any case, as I said, your heart will definitely benefit from a healthier diet.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

i'm on dianette as i have pcos (and suspected underactive thyroid)... i find it really really hard to lose weight and extremely easy to gain!! You are not alone.. i have a good month (as the water retention eases) and the weight loss comes to a halt and then i'm lucky if i lose half a pound a week even if i stick to the plan 100%

Don't let it get you down honey **HUG** if you are feeling more healthy by doing SW thats the most important thing :) Also, why don't you weigh yourself once a month rather than weekly?

Also, the slower the weight comes off, the more likely it is to stay off!! :D

Consultant31 has given some great advice... i'm so finiky when it comes to food that i will eat mostly the same thing all the time... that certainly isn't helping me!!!!

    I want to cry :(

Lost my engagement ring on Tuesday (but found it Thursday)
    Then my laptop keyboard broke.
Then OH tells me he may have to work 3500 miles away instead of 300
Midday today I book my honeymoon - literally just as my destination turns into a national disaster zone with 32 people dead in mudslides & flood.

At least the stress might stop me eating.......

Good grief, it's all coming at once isn't it? I'm sorry about your honeymoon destination, but I doubt if any problems won't be fixed well before June. They lose too much money for them to not get a move on and get the visitors back in. Don't fret too much at this point :)

As for OH working in Afghanistan........well I can quite see why you wouldn't want to follow him there :( How long would he be away?

PS: when making the soup, make sure the pan's a whopper. It makes about 6 pints and needs room to bubble up a bit. If it's just for you, I'd think about halving the quantities, though it does freeze well. I've found it very good as a weight-loss aid :rotfl:
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
  • I have a syn value request.......

Flahavans Porridge (instant in a pot, just add water)
44g (so can't count as Heb)
    per 100g, 358 kcal, fat 5.9g (0.9 sats), fibre 8.0g.

I am training for the Brighton Marathon and usually I have 28g normal porridge as a Heb, but on the day I wont have access to a microwave/cooker, so am tring out other options.

    Thanks in advance

My youngest daughter has PCOS and lost 5½ stone over 2 years with food optimising so, although the loss may be a little slower, it's still possible to lose weight very successfully.

If you get water retention, try to drink more water (at least 2½ litres a day) - it may sound daft, but it really does work :)

my friend has lost loads too.. its taken her 3 years and she looks amazing! I don't mind losing 1lb a week.. thats 52lbs a year which to me is a healthy loss :)

My GP thinks i have an underactive thyroid as well (results pending) and if thats the case, combined with the PCOS, until i get treated weight loss is gonna be slow anyway

Is it usual to pee loads whilst doing SW? As since i've been food optimising i've been needing to wee loads! Do you think thats coz my body isn't retaining as much water as i'm eating right foods as well as drinking 2.5 ltrs of water a day??
