Do you think magic breakfast rice would work?

No sorry, you will have to cook the rice. Porridge oats have already been crushed and rolled removing the outer husk so they are able to absorb the moisture from the yogurt. Pudding or short grain rice has not been treated and the grain will not soften enough to eat with any degee of quality of taste or texture. Aside from that the pudding rice is 100% better eaten immediatly after cooking while it is still hot/warm. It is not so nice when it gets cold, You can buy microwave rice cookers which will do the rice in about 20 minutes or so in the microwave. Then add the yogurt and fruit to it.

B= fruit and fat free yogurts

L= Met a friend and went to harvester. Thought I would be good but had fried cajun chicken with lots of salad, jacket potato (no butter) and had a voucher for a free chocolate sundae, so goodness knows how many syns that lot is:o. The fried chicken tasted dry so might as well have had grilled

Feel so stuffed now so think will probably just have fruit and yogurt for rest of day with plenty of water.:)

I was wondering if anyone had tried making a big batch of pudding rice, freezing it in portions and heating in the micro as required?

Was thinking I could do a big batch in my slow cooker with some cinnamon and vanilla essence and some sweetener, any thoughts?

no because porridge oats soften in anything with moisture - rice wouldn't soften enough to eat & probably still be crunchy.

Whoop! Managed to find tomato pasta kid's meal instead of a sausage sarnie at the pub! :T Go me! :A

I made the magic porridge with oatso simple and vanilla mullerlight last night and added a chopped banana to it this morning - boy was I full!
Going to get some pudding rice later in the week and try that - I bet it's lovely when it's still warm.
Some people see the glass half full, others see the glass half empty - the enlightened are simply grateful to have a glass :)
  • Hey guys, not posted in a while as i've been busy working.

Last night for tea, I really couldn't be bothered to do some cooking, so just had some bits and peices from the fridge instead and a packet of sweet chilli mugshots, which can't be good for me really, so was wondering if anyone could advise me on what ready meals are relativley low in syns?

Also, how do people keep the cost of their shopping down, i'm spending like £25ish a week on groceries!

I finally bought some frylite today, it was 1/3rd off in sainsburys at £1.28, so hopefully will lose some weight slightly faster now, as i'm not using my olive oil. another bargain of the day; pack of 6 fat free WW yoghurts for 70p at Herons! It was 3 vanilla and 3 toffee ones.

BTW, just wanted to ask how many syns are in banana chips? you know the dryed banana slices you can get at weigh and save places. I can't seem to find them!

  • Just popping in for a sec since I don't think I updated since WI when I lost half a lb!! Which might not sound like much but a big yay because I'd had a heavy week. Anyway in London for the weekend and have a feeling it will take a major effort of will to lose this week but I'm pretty determined. Although SW tends to go out the window a bit because we eat out a lot but gonna try to keep to lower cal choices. And not drink.

Also on day 3 of my lenten no sweets pledge. So far so good :) I know it will make a difference to overall cals so I am definitely gonna stick with it.

Hope you all have a good weekend!
