Ive never heard of the other 2 but Joes are only available online, you have to order about a minimum 8 packs I think. Some butchers are slimmingworld approved and sell sausages that are either free or very low syns. Consultant31 posted a full list on the thread before last.
As for the pasta quiche im not sure why its not free anymore. I know the pasta n sauces all have around 1-1/2 syns each now (except the tomato and onion one) so that would be a reason to add those syns, but I dont see how it could be a misuse of free food if you are only eating what you would normally in one sitting and its not ground down.
Does anyone make pasta quiche using their own pasta in sauce rather than the packets?
So you would stir in your 4 beaten eggs to your pasta and sauce, add some black pepper and pour in a dish and add some sliced tomatoes to the top and cook in the oven until set. I think it takes about 30 minutes at 190 degrees C.
Or if you were using rice stir in 3 beaten eggs to your cooked rice and some chopped veg and black pepper. I think the rice ones only take 20 minutes to set though because you use less eggs. (Does anyone know why that is?)0 -
retiredlady wrote: »Syn Free Pancakes:
1 Egg per pancake
2-3 Teaspoons sweetener (depending on own taste)
3-4 Drops of vanilla essence
First separate the white from the yolk and put into separate bowls, Whisk the egg white until fluffy and add the sweetener, In the other bowl add the vanilla essence then fold the yolk into the egg white
Heat a frying pan with frylight, add the mix and spread as you would a normal pancake after a few mins flip over (But do be careful they are much more delicate than a regular pancake) And then Hey presto scrummy syn free pancakes.
You could add cinnammon, strawberries or fruits of the forest as an alternative once cooked.

Does anyone know if vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste is syn free too?0 -

You got me on that one - I really don't know and can't find it on line. Mind you I don't think 3 drops is going to slow things down too much! Don't know about the paste either I'm afraid. Is it used in the same way as vanilla essence?

This sounds interesting - do you use any cottage cheese or quark in them?

It's only the diet plain pork ones that are free isn't it. The cumberland and lincolnshire ones are 1/2 a syn.0 -
Was planning on having a red day today but I just get too hungry so changed it to EE day
B= Honey melon + 2 shape yogurts. 6 wholewheat crackerbread (heb1)
L=chicken stirfry with rice and packet of stirfry ver.
D= plan to have quorn sausages, eggs, bake beans.
S= the usual tea with milk (hea1) blueberries, yogurts, apples.

Marions Breakfast Rice:
Cook 1/2 cup of pudding rice in 1 cup of water for about 20 minutes (I use my remoska). Remove from heat put into a bowl, add fruit and a complementing muller yogurt and mix together! ie rice with sliced banana and toffee yogurt, rice with frozen blueberrys and a blueberry yogurt, rice with mandarin segments (chopped) and mandarin yogurt. For best results eat straight away while it is nice and warm! Tastes really nice and is very very filling! Also free on SW green and EE so can be made any time you fancy it really!
Magic porridge - I believe is made by soaking 28g or porridge oats in a syn free yogurt over night. It will swell and soften and tastes yummy with added fruit. When life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!0 -
Do you cook the oats before or after soaking them in the yogurt?0
