Hi again [can't keep me off now :D] I have the purple food directory and I can't get on with it at all, everything is so hard to find. I much prefered the old directory although I understand theres another out now, is that any better?

    Food diary for today;

B- 3 weetabix [HE b's] milk [HE a] + coffee, milk from allowence.
    S- jumbo caramel snack a jack [2.5syns]
L- rice, muller [sick bucket] sorry :o

T- am feeling hungry now. Baked Pot x2, oven baked tomatoes/onions, cheese [HE a] & beans.

Had a bottle of water on go all day but am not much of a drinker at the best of times. Hope to have drunk it all by end of tea [500ml]

I probably don't eat enough and not had many syns today either. I can only eat what my stomach will allow lol. Have noticed a big difference since stopping the meds.

Previously and now I write EVERYTHING down in a book and this really does help me.
    Whats the verdict?
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

What about stewed fruit? It's a HEb and always a favourite of mine in the winter - especially the apple & mincemeat - nice & quick in the microwave!

Oh thankyou I keep fancying stewed apple but haven't had any because of the syns, didn't realise I could have it as a Heb!

Not through choice lol - oh how I'd love to eat a piece of normal bread
The wheat free stuff is rather high in syns unfortunately and it just isn't the same anyway, so def not worth it! Yes I can eat cheese so that's another option, thanks.

TakeItEasy - did you count the syns int he extra Weetabix? AFIK you can only have 2 as a HEb.

Be right back with the sausage info Karen! Edit; yes it has a tiny amount of rusk/wheat flour in :( Was thinking though some butchers round here do SW friendly burgers & sausages - you could see if there are any near you and ask if they do any without additives like this? I always assume butchers sausages are more meat than supermarket produced ones ;) Knowing my local butchers if you were to buy a bulk of sausages for your freezer they may even make a special batch up for you!

Hi TakeItEazy, I confess I find the new directory hell to use - instead of just being in alphabetical order it's all subdivided under "kitchen basics", "savoury sauces and gravies" etc and my real pet hate "fats and oils" - I keep forgetting and searching under "oils". It's probably just me. I tend to just look online now, saves faffing with the book. Of course, if you aren't online that doesn't help!
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

I couldn't agree more! Why oh why would they produce a book that is so hard to use?:( I have bought one every year but not this year - I just check on line now. It is so much quicker and a lot less frustrating! If they went back to the old format I would buy it again though, I used to take it shopping with me.

Ive never bought a directory but always thought I should, I might wait now until its easier to use. I was going to get the wee skinnie book the low syn and free food book. It is handbag sized, I often read it in class when waiting for everyone to be weighed, there loads of stuff I had no idea was free like some of the roasts and chicken with sauces etc out of the chilled sections.
I was thinking of making a scrap book out of my old SW mags and taking out all the good recipes and the new healthy extra and free stuff on red/green etc. I can never remember them and can never find the mag im looking for with a certain recipe in it. But I like to keep magazines whole as I like all the bits inbetween too and often go back to read them.

Im going for an Ee day, its Wi tonight so ill keep it light through the day.

B - Strawberries and Onken yoghurt. banana, toast
L - prawn stirfry with noodles.
D- fajitas, using lean chicken, free spices, fromage frais instead of sour cream, cheese allowance and free rice. Ill syn 2 tortilla wraps. This is my treat for after WI, but not as bad as the chippy where most of the class goes afterwards.

I dont think I wil have lost this week as I had a lovely Valentines meal on Sat and a chippy Sunday. Ive tried to keep active and healthy through the rest of the week though. Im going to a party on Sat night where ill be seeing a lot of people I havnt seen in months, id aimed to have lost a stone by then but I dont think ill have even reach half a stone :(. It wasnt an unreasonable target, ive just not tried hard enough.

I think instead of mini targets all the time that I never reach im just to aim to lose 1lb a week. thats acheiveable. If I lose a wee bit more then thats a bonus.
Im still going in the right direction, just not as fast as the first time I did SW.
