You just had mushy peas for lunch? I'm afraid I wouldn't agree with your consultant but what would I know, lol. The less you eat (and you're not even having 3 proper meals) the more your body will store as fat for 'lean times' when food was scarce regardless of how much you eat in the evenings (and for me your evening isn't 'a lot' of food!).

God I was getting light headed by 6pm after having a HUGE bowl of pasta on top of a HUGE baked tattie and salad for a late lunch at 2pm. I know everyone eats meals at different times but id be well stroppy and a nightmare if I only had mushy peas for lunch.
Sorry Karen not getting at your meals, im just so used to eating loads on SW cos I can and I hate feeling hungry as ive no excuse.
Im a bit of a routine freak with me and the kids. I always 3 meals a day, The kids always eat at the same times (give or take 30 mins if ive changed my mind about what they are having lol). every day. if I miss lunch totally I would be all out of sorts. If im too busy at 12.30 I always make sure I have something substancial an hour later or so.

  • Thanks for your comments :o) I will try harder to eat more during the day - I've just always eaten that way and before sw would pig out on all sorts of rubbish after my tea! I am finding it quite difficult especially on work days (not today!) because I have to eat in the car (sometimes driving!) so it's generally the four ryvita with dairylea and a banana- I'm wheat intolerant, so much as I'd like to have a hearty sandwich, I can't because I don't buy the wheat free bread. It's way out of my budget and besides that, there's no mention of wheat free bread for HEb's. Will ask my consultant next week. Maybe I will have to train myself to have a good breakfast but at the moment the thought of having eggs and beans first thing turns my stomach. Speaking of eggs, is there a limit to how many you can have in a week? I think I read somewhere that it's 8?
    Thanks again xx

Eggs are unlimited now as they've been discounted from giving you high cholestrol. It doesn't have to be a full cooked breakfast - just more than a banana! Try fruit salad with yoghurt? Pudding rice mixed with yoghurt? (very filling!) Take leftovers from last nights dinner with you if you have access to a microwave? If not there's plenty of HM soups that will last in a thermos or you can cook savoury rice in a thermos of hot water. (I'm presuming rice is ok but I'm sorry I don't know a lot about wheat intolerances!) You could make a breakfast quiche on a sunday night and have that a few mornings (you can heat it before you leave or have it cold later in the morning) - chopped bacon/sausage/mushroom baked in egg.

Hi everyone - fell off the SW wagon and haven't climbed back on yet. Have had a really rubbish couple of weeks - with all sorts going on - and tbh meal planning and As and Bs have gone out of the window.

So will probably lurk for a while til I get my head back on straight x

Morning, Alpen lights are 3 syns each. Most heb are around 6 syns altogether. I love the choc fudge ones but I always find them too expensive, I only buy them if they are on a deal, which seems to be rare.

Sorry Karen, I feel bad now. I wasnt trying to be mean by picking at your meals, Im just so used to eating loads on SW because its available. I know not everyone can because of work or other reasons. I just didnt want to see you hungry because you maybe thought you shouldnt eat a lot during the day as you prefer to eat at night, but if its all free food you can eat as much as you like ALL day.

Skint Catt has gave you some good ideas. Could you not buy 1 loaf of wheat free bread and freeze it and just use a couple of slices now and again? Have a wee look online and it should tell you the syns value of it. Im assuming the fibre is in the wheat itself so your right it might not be a heb.
As SC says if you are short of time or having to eat in the car them maybe invest in a food thermos so you can have soups and stews for lunch or whatever is left over from your tea the night before.

I love my poached egg on toast for brekkie but I couldnt eat it too early, so I know how you feel. Do you like porridge? that would be nice and filling in the morning along with your banana, good slow releasing energy to keep you full til lunch.

please keep posting your daily food diary, it does help when you see it all written down. x

thanks., I might get some. They are normally £1.99 each I think. Im like you though and dont like using a heb on them, I prefer to just have the one and syn it.
