  • My mum and sister are joining class tonight - I'm going to go with them after I come back from my holidays - I'm away on Thursday the 4th of March for a week -

Its brilliant that my mum and sister are going to do the classes - my sister has a lot of weight to lose and basically has been in a bit of denial about it so I'm so pleased to see her taking the initiave. Mum's a bit awkward in that she's a vegan (and I don't think she eats tofu) so I'm not sure how she'll work around the programme.

Yes - for some reason tinned vegetables are free but tinned fruit isn't (I guess because veggie are just in water and fruit comes in syrup or fruit juice which aren't free)

  • Sorry but they aren't syn-free. This is one of the things which is misuse of free foods.

SW looked at all the things that enterprising members made up, couscous cakes, polents cakes, mock peanuts (using chickpeas) pasta Doritos etc, etc and found that taken in any quantity, these will slow down your weight loss.

If you're desperate for a bag of crisps, I guess these are better than Walkers, but if you're eating properly at meal times, you shouldn't really need them.

Tweaking the plan is a slippery slope, make sure you know when to stop ;)

    Duly told off.

I didnt fancy a stir fry after all tonight but had taken out some raw jumbo king prawns to defrost. I ended up making a delish Thai green curry using blue dragon light coconut milk It is 20 syns for the whole can but I had just under half, so i reckon 8 syns or so.
Its quite a lot for dinner but Oh was off to college and he fancied a curry from the take away, he said he was short of time, so I popped in the kitchen and threw the thai curry together, it had loads of ginger, garlic and corriander, sugar snaps in it. We had it with savoury rice.
if we'd had a curry from the take out, it would be at least 10 syns for the curry alone, then 10 syns for half a nan, and god know how much for the pilau rice and veg pakora.
i know I wouldnt of had to eat all that, but we live in a small village and they are the only take out (infact there is only them and 2 corner shops and 1 hairdresser in the village) and they are very very good. theres no way I could resist.:o

But I did and feel good. Ill factor the coconut syns into my daily amount so ive still had a good Sw day.

Ill make some Sw chips for later while OH is at college. Tomorrow is WI day so I dont want to scupper a good week now.

    Duly told off.

Gosh no, I didn't intend you to feel "told off".

I only repeated the 'official line' so that you know where you stand.

We all make choices about how we follow the plan. If you choose to follow it 100%, you will get good losses, but if you choose to take what we call the scenic route (ie: tweaking a bit here and there in order to enjoy life) then your losses will be a little slower, but if the tweaks aren't too often, you will still lose weight.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Well I'm officially frustrated again, lol. I've reached that point that I struggled before - I seem to always get to 15st 3lb and my weight refuses to budge! I'm already doing slifast which did give me a boost, but it's stopped again and I don't know what to do - don't want to try Alli or anything mroe drastic. Will try to up the exercise starting this afternoon (car about to go in for an MOT - god help me) but not sure what else I can do!

Catt, don't forget you had a difficult day at your FIL's over the weekend. You could well be holding a little extra water from all the wrong foods you ate. It'll pan out over the next week if you stick to plan. :)

Re-read any books and magazines you have and plan your weeks meals. Especially the success stories int he magazine always make me try harder ;)

(oh and congrats on the 2stone loss and 9lbs in 3 weeks isn't bad - hope you enjoyed it :D )
