Its a hard one. I would eat before you go so that your full and less likely to nibble. if youve been really good all week you could take it as a flexi syns day and enjoy a couple of sausage rolls and some cake. It depends on how good your will power is. mine is rubbish so I would have the flexisyns day. that way you can relax a bit and not torture yourself.
Im going to a 40th birthday on the 20th, i know there will be lovely buffet food and plenty of alcohol, I plan to be really good the week leading up to it then have a flexi syns day. i know I wouldnt be able to resist all that temptationa and it would ruin my night just staring at the buffet and watching everyone else get hammered.
BF: Bacon & Fried Egg Sandwich (fried in oil, white bread and butter)
L: snacked on chicken nuggets, currly fries, buns .....need i go on!?Meal at a carvery. Turkey, Ham, Mash, Roasters, Carrote & Peas, Gravy. Stole 2 Profiteroles from OH's dessert, and a Mocha.
Snack (as if i needed one!) Whole Nut chocolate bar and Walkers Cheese & Onion crisps.
needless to say, i felt like a stuffed animal going to bed. so bloated and sicky feeling, it wasnt worth it in the end,....but i did enjoy it at the time.
Today as a new day though.
BF: Tea (still feeling ill from sundays antics!)
Lunch: Baked Pot, cheese and beans, side salad consisting of lettuce, onion, peppers and tomato
Dinner: Pork Steak, Baby Poattoes and Petit Pois and carrots
had a WW chocolate cake bar thing with a cup of tea.and am feeling hungry again....havent had much fruit or veg today, but really not in the mood either.....:mad:Carla-Farla!!

What was the HE at breakfast? If you don't want them then don't have them. You should have them for a balanced diet, but I doubt anyone in the world does it all right every day. Eating for the sake of it goes against everything SW talks about.0 -

Could you not join a group to get the books? In all honesty I don't really know how anyone can do this without the proper books, there's such a lot of it. It would be so much easier for you if the lists were to hand whenever you needed something.
Larry5 - welcome to the thread
I'm joining a group on Wednesday 6pm. I only started last Thursday and knew some of the basics, so thought I could manage until then with the help of the kind folk on here. Had I just waited until this Wednesday it probably wouldn't have happened - had to start while I was in the right frame of mind! I can't wait to get my hands on the books

Hi guys,
Amazing discovery made! Maybe some of you know, but it's new to me - syn free crisps! Homemade!
I fancied crips tonight, so sliced some potatoes thinly with a mandolin, sprayed a "cookasheet" non stick sheet with fry light, popped on the potato slices in a single layer, sprayed again and sprinkled with a little salt.
Popped in the microwave for 3 mins, turned over and cooked another 2 mins. Hey presto - proper crisps!! Takes a few batches to make a decent amount tho!
I guess you could season with paprika etc, and could also do sweet potato, parsnip, even beetroot crisps!
I think they're free, but maybe not as they're not that filling, but a great snack anyway! Definitely lower fat than shop bought, and really do taste just as good. I'm thrilled!Started Slimming World 1st January 2010.
Start weight - 13:4
Current weight - 12:3
Target weight - 10:100 -
Just tried it with sweet potatoes - they work great too! (Yes, I am a late night snacker!).Started Slimming World 1st January 2010.

I think they would be free as long as you didnt eat about 5 potatoes worth. if you simply sliced up and did 1-2 potatoes then that should be fine. but eating 4/5 large pots might slow down your weight loss. they sound good though, too much hassle for me though lol.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
I was super good last night and feel good. Ive lost 4lb since xmas, so im hoping to get my half stone award this week or next.I sts last week, but I think that was the week before catching up with me.
I enjoyed my red day and dinner was very tasty, instead of my usual SW chips snack at night we had smoked salmon pate on scan bran. Im hoping if I drink loads of water today things will start to just dissapear.
Not sure what kind of day to have today, ill keep it green/neutral until lunch, or until oh is up and we can decide what to have for tea.
B- half pot Onken yoghurt, banana, cuppa
L - Baked potato and beans, salad, maybe with cheese if i know whats for tea.
D - Im thinking king prawn stirfry, or 3 bean chilli.
Sancks, fruit, and water
supper toast and jam (heb,2syns)
im trying to have minimal syns today. not sure how ive done syn wise this week as I forgot to write down Thu and Fridays food diary. Ive did the rest of the week and ive been pretty good. just going to stick to 5 today just incase. WI is tomorrow night.
Kids are both at nursery for 2 1/2 hours this morning, this is my only morning I get to myself, i feel I should use it wisely for some exercise, not sure what to do though. i hate fitness dvd's, the Wii is fun but not exactly high impact. Might have a look at the local sports centre and see if they have classes.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Hi, I've been lurking on this thread since November when I joined SW.
A few weeks ago my teenage son also joined and we're struggling with breakfasts for him. All other meals and snacks are fine, he's not fussy at all and really doesn't have much weight to lose (already lost 4 1/2 pounds and probably only needs to lose 3-5 pounds more to move into the healthy weight for his height). He's only 13 so this is healthy eating not a diet but as a teenage boy he's always hungry!
I bought pudding rice (Asda's own) to make him Marion's rice this morning but the packet says to cook for 2 hours in oven so he ended up having something else.
Will it be OK to boil the rice just for 20 mins?
Thanks, Lesley0 -

Sorry but they aren't syn-free. This is one of the things which is misuse of free foods.
SW looked at all the things that enterprising members made up, couscous cakes, polents cakes, mock peanuts (using chickpeas) pasta Doritos etc, etc and found that taken in any quantity, these will slow down your weight loss.
If you're desperate for a bag of crisps, I guess these are better than Walkers, but if you're eating properly at meal times, you shouldn't really need them.
Tweaking the plan is a slippery slope, make sure you know when to stopI let my mind wander and it never came back!0
