Lol hoping for a stays score on tuesday though would be delighted to lose the half a pound for my half stone award i just haven't put in the effort eating wise this week (been stressed now see this is a major sweeties trigger for me). I have had a one hour thai boxing session, 1 hour on wii fit and plan to do 1/2 hour on wii fit tomorrow morning then one hour thai boxing in the evening so it isn't a complete loss but i think atm it's mostly damage control.

    Better week next week :)

I've just read somewhere that it's not a good idea to eat too many bananas on sw  Is this true? I'm having at least 2 a day and not sure I could survive without them!

Gahhh, I hope not, I get through 2 a day too.
I'm sure it won't be though, if the nutritionalists at SW say its a free food, then I should think it would be okay, wouldn't you??

    Hi all
I need to loose some weight (about 1.5- 2 stone) and have been to ww on and off for the last 8 years, I get to near to goal stop going then get to where i am now and start to feel horrid so think about going back.
But I am just so sick of the point counting and writing everything down so think i need to try something different. Am thinking of joining sw later this week, have bought mag and thought maybe follow plan in there till i go. I remember trying it before but could never do the red days but understand it has changed now.
How long are meetings and what happens.
    thanks in advance

Hi and welcome to the thread.
When you go to your SW meeting usually the consultant will take all the first timers and go through the plans and the pack while everyone else gets weighed. Then after about half an hour once everyone is weighed she goes around everyone and announces there weight loss and everyones gives a wee clap (sounds cringey but its actually really nice and makes you feel good ) if you have gained more than 1lb mine woulnt announce that, she would just say 'oh a small gain for you this week, how do you feel, were you expecting that?' She then mentions anything new shes tried and asks if anyones tried any good recipes. its all quite relaxed and very funny, theres some right characters in my class. Noone is made to feel embarrassed. My class takes about and hour, it depends how many have stayed to the class as she goes around everyone.
Hope that answers your question. The plans have changed in the last few years and there is now Extra easy. its great as you dont have to count anything that is free on red/green days ie lean meat, pasta, potatoes, rice, nearly all veg and fruit are free. You just have 1 healthy extra A (milk, cheese) and 1 healthy extra B (bread, cereal, crispbreads, some cereal bars etc)
You are never hungry doing SW and always feel as though youve eaten far too much, but the more you eat of the right foods the more you lose.

Bananas are not superspeed foods, so eating them is fine and you will still lose, but if you have 1 or 2 you are more likely to lose more than if you ate 4.
1-2 a day is fine and wont make much difference, but some people eat4 or more a day, that would slow it down i think.
They are still great as a slow releasing energy food, so great for brekkie or before exercise.

sushi is 1 syn per 100g, your oh's sounds very healthy so I think it would still be the 1 syn per 100g. I think its the seaweed your synning to be honest.

It sounds like you are doing all the right things and eating nice food, keep it up, your doing well. When is your weigh in? The weekends are always hard to stick to plan its a new week so if youve been naughty over the weekend then draw a line under it and start afresh today.

  • Morning all - I made the beef goulash from the mag on Saturday night it went down a treat - the whole family loved it - I have to say the recipes in the mag are fantastic and really easy and tasty.

My mum and sis are joining our local SW class - I told them that when I come back from my holidays that I'll go with them - so I'll be joining in about 4 weeks or so - I'm still following the plan. Not sure of weight as it's my * week.....will weigh in Friday.

I have had the butterbuds and are ok - but a friend brought me back from america a bottle of: i cannot believe its not butter spray - which tastes just like butter and is calorie free, it really was god stuff and tasted like butter, i had it on crumpets, or in jkt pots and was great, but you cannot buy it in this country, i asked the manufacturers and was told there wasn't a market for it here! i think there would be - you can buy it off ebay ( from other countries) but works out expensive.

Hi, just to say you CAN buy Butterbuds in the UK. Lakeland.co.uk sell them, or the Lakeland shop if there's one near you. ...... http://www.lakeland.co.uk/F/keyword/butterbuds/product/6744

''Low calorie powdered butter substitute. All the flavour of butter without the fat.
Produced from real butter, Butter Buds undergo a special process that removes the fat and water leaving behind just the original buttery taste.
When sprinkled over hot potatoes, vegetables, pasta or rice, they'll butter you up... but, containing only 5 calories per sachet, not your waistline!
One sachet contains the same flavour as 2 teaspoons of butter (approx. 70 calories!).''
    :)
